Olympic Worldcup 2016 - Qingdao CHN - Final results

Apparently, our yesterday's report about the World Sailing Olympic Classes Worldcup Event in Qingdao CHN did already contain the final results. Considered by World Sailing 'the pinnacle of elite racing', this Regatta was not only a non-event considering the participation, but even more a flop considering the media work ... no reports, no photos, no videos .. not to mention a real-time GPS positioning or livestream !
As expected, the Rio Olympic Silver Medalist Tonci Stipanovic CRO was the winner in the Lasers Standard, and Dongshuang Zhang CHN was the superior first in the Lasers Radial. The two Laser fleets were the only ones with a certain international participation.

GC32-Catamaran - Extreme Sailing Series - Act 6 - Madeira POR - Day 3

GC32-Catamaran - Extreme Sailing Series - Act 6 - Madeira POR - Day 3 There was enough wind - 12 kn - in Funchal/Madeira POR yesterday to get the GC32 foiling, and six races were completed. At the start of race 3, Roman Hagara AUT with his 'Red Bull Sailing Team' screamed across the start line at full tilt but got too close to 'Alinghi' with Arnaud Psarofaghis SUI, and the back of their boat clipped the front of the Swiss. The impact between the two super-fast GC32 catamarans snapped a crucial part of Alinghi’s rigging and 16.5-metre carbon fibre mast and sails fell into the water. The video. Thanks to the redress given, the Swiss remain on top of the interim's rankings. 'Oman Air' with Morgan Larson USA now on rank 2 is 5 points behind and everything is open in the final races today ... provided the 'Alinghi' shore crew succeeded to repair the multihull during the past night.
