Olympic Games 2012 - Weymouth GBR - Day 10

Wednesday, August 8, 2012
The Olympic Windsurfing competition, the last one if the Kite-Surfing decision for 2016 is not reconsidered, ended with two impressive Medal Race victories of Dorian Van Rijsselberge NED and Marina Alabau ESP, both already clearly ahead after the qualifcation races. With Nick Dempsey GBR on rank 2 and Przemyslav Miarczynski POL as 3rd, no changes happened on the last day. In the Women RS:X fleet however, major changes happened as the World Champion Lee-El Korzits ISR flopped in the Medal Race, allowing Tuuli Petäjä FIN to take Silver, the very first Medal for Finland at these Games. Bronze went to Zofia Klepacka POL. The Women Matchracer started with the Quarter Finals to be concluded today. The 470 men completed the qualification races with Belcher/Page AUS and Patience/Bithell GBR fighting for Gold and Silver. In the 470 women, Aleh/Powrie NZL reclaimed the top with two bullets, but Mills/Clark GBR and Westerhof/Berkhout NED stay close, with two races to go. All results and the report.
