 49er, 49erFX, Nacra 17 - European Championship 2019 - Weymouth GBR - Final results, Schneiter/Cujean SUI Only very light winds prevailed on the final day of the combined European Championship of the three speed olympic classens. The Medal Race of the 49er had even to be cancelled.

In the 49ersFX , the Olympic Champions Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA remained on top thanks to their huge advantage after the qualification phase winning the title ahead of Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz NED and the Medal Race winners Helene Naess/ Marie Rönningen NOR. The very light winds, keeping the Nacra-17 non-foiling during most of the races, reshuffled the rankings considerably. The clearly leading Ruggero Tita/Catarina Banti ITA finished last in the Medal Race and were relegated on rank 4 overall. First of the crucial race were Ben Saxton/Nicola Boniface GBR grasping the European Champions title ahead of John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBRto make it a GBR one-two. The 49ers sailed a last qualification race in the morning. The Medal Race in the afternoon had to be cancelled due to lack of wind. The Olymipic Champions Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL coming back after their successful engagements in the America s Cup and the Volvo Ocean Race were the clear overall winners ahead Dylan Fletscher/Stuart Bithell GBR and James Peters/Fynn Sterritt GBR. Sébastien Schneider/Lucien Cujean SUI finished the Championship on rank 11. 49er, 49erFX, Nacra 17 - European Championship 2019 - Weymouth GBR - Day 6

Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA dominated the 49erFX fleet again during the two light-wind races yesterday and will go to the Medal Race with a 19 point lead, with a safe hand on the title. Bekkering/Duetz NED remain on rank 2 with a 7 point advantage on the tied Bobeck/Tengström SWE and Naess/ Roeningen NOR on the ranks 3 and 4. The 49erFX ranking list and the 49erFX daily news.

The 49ers will start to another qualification race this Sunday morning. Inspite of sailing their discard yesterday - rank 19 - Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL remain on top with a 17 point lead. Fletcher/Sign GBR moved up on 2nd, Botin/Lopez ESP follow one point behind on rank 3. Sébastien Schneiter/Lucien Cujean SUI on rank 11 have to compensate 8 points today to make the Medal Race cut. The Olympic Champions Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL reclaimed rank one in the 49ers in the three races sailed yesterday in moderate winds. Botin/Lopez ESP followed on the second place with a 5 point backlog. Fletcher/Bithell GBR advanced on rank 3. Sailing in the harbour with wind from the shore, the 49ersFX held their races on flat water. Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR, best of the day, climbed on top of the overall rankings at equal points with the Olympic Champions Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA. Winning three races, Ruggero Tita/Caterina Banti ITA mastered the difficult conditions - especially for the foiling Nacras-17 with a breeze around 16kn and considerable waves - the best and have taken the lead ahead of Vittorio Bisarro/Maelle Frascari ITA 3 points behind. Tara Pacheco/Florian Trittel ESP follow on rank 3.
In the 49ersFX, the Youth World Champions Vilma Bobeck/Malin Tengström SWE won two races and are on top overall ahead of the Olympic Champions Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA and Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz NED on 2nd and 3rd.
