 Laser Standard - World Championship 2020 - Sandringham AUS - Day 1 Finishing on the ranks 1 and 2 in their groups, Finn Alexander AUS and Tonci Stipanovic CRO have taken the lead after two races sailed at the Laser World Championship in Sandringham AUS this morning UTC. On rank 3 follows Philipp Buhl GER. Pavlos Kontides CYP and Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA occupy the ranks 4 and 5. Finishing 21st and 6th, Eliot Merceron SUI is on rank 38, Nicolas Rolaz SUI follows as 86th. ----- The 137 participants from 45 nations, split in three groups, completed the first two championship races in a moderate 10kn seabreeze that filled in late in the day. Among the participants are five Olympic medalists with the Laser legend Robert Scheidt BRA or the defending World Champion, World Ranking nbr 1 and Olympic Champion Tom Burton AUS, who lost the Australian selection for Tokyo 2020 against Matthew Wearn AUS.
