Another light-wind day yesterday at the Finn Europeans in Barcelona with two races completed.
Pieter-Jan Postma NED is the new leader with the day ranks 2 and 6. His advantage on the second-ranked Josh Junior NZL is 10 points before the last race today, and his qualification for the Medal Race is safe whatever happens in the last heat. With the discard in effect, Milan Vujasinovic CRO moved up on rank 3 with an 8 points' backlog on Josh Junior NZL, but only 2 points ahead of Beresz Zsombor HUN. The selection of the 10 best for the Medal Race remains very challenging as the rank 8 to 16 are separated by 16 points only, and most of the contenders have a failed result on their record sheet. A special duel within the Championship is the battle for the USA Rio Olympics selection between Zach Railey USA and Caleb Paine USA. In the second race yesterday, they were matchracing from start to finish terminating the race in the last positions. Zach Railey USA has been disqualified afterwards, but nevertheless, he overtook Caleb Paine USA and is now 10 points ahead of his opponent.
