Windsurfing RS:X Youth World Championship 2016 Limassol CYP Day 5
The Final Series at the RS:X Windsurfer Worlds in Limassol CYP, the Boys sailing in a Gold- and Silverfleet, were concluded yesterday with three races for the first time in lighter winds.
In the Boys, all went in favor of the defending champion Yoav Omer ISR who kept the situation under control also in these new conditions. With a 32 points' lead, he has defended his title prematurely before today's Medal Race. Camille Bouyer FRA is new on rank 2. Still in the race for a medal 10 points behind are Mack Van den Eerenbreemt ARU and Tom Reuveny ISR at equal points.
Contrary is the situation in the Girls, where the clearly leading oy Driham ISR flopped in two of the three heats, letting the second-ranked Katy Spychakov ISR reduce the backlog on 5 points. Even Emma Wilson GBR on the 3rd place with a 12 points' deficit has a small chance for the title in today's Medal Race.
