As expected, the low pressure zone over the Canaries decelerated the leader Armel Le Cléac'h FRA, and until this morning UTC, Alex Thomson GBR reduced the backlog by 80 nm and sails still 3 kn faster than Le Cléac'h FRA. The backlog was down on 177 nm this morning. Jean-Pierre Dick FRA on rank 4 crossed the Equator yesterday and he will probably reduce the deficit on the leading group even more. On Sunday, there will be high traffic around Cape Horn as the group of four is in the approach.
