Olympic World Cup 2017 - Olympic Classes Regatta - Miami FL, USA - Day 5

The first five Medal Races of the Miami Worldcup event were completed yesterday in light winds. In the other five events, the Qualification Series ended with 2 races in each class.
In the 49ers, the newly composed team Dylan Fletcher/Stuart Bithell GBR were the premature winners before the Medal Race already. Bildstein/Hussl AUT and Botin/Lopez ESP took Silver and Bronze. Living up to the expectations were the Olympic Champions Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA in the 49ersFX, winning the Medal Race as well and ending up as superior winners overall ahead of Agerup/Agerup NOR and Travascio/Branz ARG. No change on the podium in the Nacras 17 where Ben Saxton/Nicola Groves GBR finished first in front of Tom Phipps/Nicola Boniface GBR and the newcomers Nico Delle-Karth/Laura Schöfegger AUT. Ranks 1 and 2 for France in the RS:X men windsurfers with Louis Giard FRA and Pierre Le Coq FRA. Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI earned Bronze. Yunxiu Lu CHN defended her first position in the RS:X women windsurfers ahead of Marina Alabau ESP and Manjia Zheng CHN.
Today, the Medal Races of the 470, the Lasers and the Finns are on the program. Premature winner in the Finns is Jorge Zarif BRA with two race wins yesterday. Ben Cornish GBR and Anders Pedersen NOR will fight for the remaining medals today. In the 470 men, Stuart McNay/David Hughes USA and 8 points back Mantis/Kagialis GRE are on top of the rankings. Isozaki/Takayanagi JPN are on a solid path to Bronze.
