AC50Catamaran Louis Vuitton Cup Hamilton BER Day 8 Team New Zealand qualified for the LouisVuittonFinal
After the day off due to the stormy wind, racing was resumed yesterday with three duels for each of the Semi-Finalist pairs.
'Team New Zealand' with Peter Burling NZL came back strongly with the repaired catamaran damaged in the spectacular capsize for which Burling admitted responsibilty. He won two of the three matches increasing the score on 5-2 against 'BAR' of Ben Ainslie GBR, who yesterday showed the best performance so far on the Bermuda Great Sound, .... but this was not good enough to avoid the elimination from the Cup Challenge. The Brits had speed and handling problems during the whole competition and only remained in the Semis thanks to the two Bonus Points as winners of the AC45F World Series. The news.
Still open is the outcome in the second duel between 'Artemis' with Nathan Outteridge AUS winner of the day's three matches, and 'Team Japan' with Dean Barker NZL. The 1-3 result was turned over in a 4-3 lead for the Swedes. Today is the crucial day in the best-of-nine series. The news.
