Olympic Classes Kiel Week Kiel GER Day 4
Rain and fresh winds prevailed yesterday during the final races of the Qualification Series for today's Medal Races.
Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS have an 18 points' lead in the 470 men and will hardly loose victory. To be noted, that the second-ranked Sozykin/Gribanov RUS and Diesch/Autenrieth GER have to defend the podium places against several challengers closely behind. Fully open however is the outcome in the 470 women: Skrzypulec/Mrozek POL is only 4 points ahead of Loewe/Markfort GER before the double-points-no-discard Medal Race. Smith/Ryan AUS on the 3rd place are already 12 points back.
Premature winners in the 49ers are David Gilmour/Joel Turner AUS with a 20 points' lead on Przybytek/Kolodzinski POL. In the 49ersFX lead Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR ahead of Alexandra Maloney/Molly Meech NZL.
Winning race, Max Salminen SWE replaced the tied Deniss Karpak EST on top of the Finns. 10 points is the backlog of Anders Pedersen NOR on rank 3.
In the Nacras, Thomas Zajac/Barbara Matz AUT extended their lead on Jan-Haucke Erichsen/Ann-Kristin Wedemeier on 6 points.
