Star World Championship Troense DEN Day 4, new leader
Yesterday was a beautiful day at the Star Worlds in Troense DEN with a wind of 12-14 during the two races held. The courses are 10.4 miles long by the class rules so 2 of those plus a 4 mile sail out and 4 miles sail back, made for a long day. Race no. 3 was launched after a restart with “Black flag”, while race no. 4 was perfect with all the boats lined up correctly.
Eivind Melleby/ Joshua Revkin NOR/USA were the best of the day (ranks 2 and 1) and are the clear overall leaders with all results in the first 4 after four races. Lars Grael/Samuel Goncalves BRA on rank 2 are 5 points back, Reinhard Schmidt/Paul Sradnick GER on 3rd are 11 points behind the leaders. The defending champions Augie Diaz/Bruno Prada USA/BRA are 4th with a 14 points' backlog.
Six races are planned for July 2 through July 8 with July 9 as a reserve day. With the light air forecast, more variation in results may be expected, but Melleby NOR seems to be on a solid way to the title.
The results, der daily news, the video of the day and the report of Paul Cayard USA.
