 VOR65 Ocean Race 2017/18 Leg 2 Day 15
The seven boats' fleet reached the latitude of the port of call Cape Town yesterday and is now heading East, positioned to touch the winds of an approaching frontal system hopefully as first. Whether the northerly or southerly boats will benefit first is not yet predictable.
This morning, 'Brunel' with Bouwe Bekking NED was leading 4nm ahead of 'Vestas' (Charlie Enright USA) and und 5nm of 'Turn the Tide on Plastic' (Dee Caffari GBR). 'Mapfre' (Xavi Fernandez ESP), the most southern boat, is last with a 39nm backlog.
