As predicted, the wind filled in with 18-20kn and more in the gusts on Biscayne Bay yesterday, and the big-breeze specialists took the command in most classes.
As best of the day, Louis Giard FRA moved on top of the RS:X men windsurfers and his advantage on the 2nd-ranked Pierre Le Coq FRA is already 12 points. The new leader in the RS:X women windsurfers is Stefania Elfutina RUS 3 points ahead of Blanca Manchon ESP new on rank 2.
Fletcher/Bithell GBR defended their first place in the 49ers followed by Botin/Lopez ESP new on 2nd 3 points behind. Victoria Jurczok/Anika Lorenz GER continued their winning streak win the 49ersFX and extended their lead on Ragna and Maia Agerup NOR to 10 points. Only 7 of the 21 teams finished the race !
In the 470 men, Patience/Grube GBR, day ranks 1 and 2, are new on top 6 points ahead of Kevin Peponnet/Jérémy Mion FRA. Kondo/Yoshioka JPN defended their lead in the 470 women in front of Zegers/van Veen NED, day ranks 1 and 2 moving up on the 2nd place 6 points behind the Japanese.
Giles Scott GBR (4/1 yesterday) is the new leader in the Finns just one point ahead of Alican Kaynar TUR (1/3 yesterday). In the Nacras 17, Jason Waterhouse/Lisa Darmanin AUS fly away on top increasing their lead on Santiago Lange/Cecilia Carranza ARG to 19 points.
