Olympic Classes - Trofeo Princesa Sofia -Palma ESP - Final results

The Trofeo Princes Sofia on Palma Bay was concluded yesterday with the Medal Races sailed in light winds. In 6 of the 10 events, the winners were known prematurely.
The best team overall with the largest lead were Matthews Belcher/Will Ryan AUS in the 470 men, grasping the Trofeo. Cinar/Cinar TUR and Isozaki/Takayanagi JPN took Silver and Bronze. The outcome in the 470 women was very close with Kondo/Yoshioka JPN 2 points ahead of Mills/McIntyre GBR and 3 points ahead of Fahrni/Siegenthaler SUI.
In the 49ers, Lange/Lange ARG won the Medal Race and climbed on top ahead of Fletcher/Bithell GBR and Delpech/Frei FRA on the ranks 2 and 3. Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz NED had their victory in the 49erFX prematurely but non the less, they won the Medal Race as well. Maloney/Meech NZL and Van Aanholt/Jongens NED completed the podium.
In the Finns, the top ranks did not change: Giles Scott GBR finished first ahead of Nicholas Heiner NED and Andy Maloney NZL. Ruggero Tita/Caterina Banti ITA clearly won in the Nacra-17 followed by Ben Saxton/Nicola Boniface GBR and Fernando Echevarri/Tara Pacheco ESP.
In the RS:X men windsurfers, Pawel Tarnowski POL won the Medal Race and herewith the overall rankings. Louis Giard FRA had to content himself with rank 2. Lilan De Geus NED remained on top of the women in front of Pei Na Chen CHN.
