Around the World Record Trophee Jules Verne Day 1
Yesterday just before noon, the 140-Foot-Trimaran 'Spindrift' crossed the starting line to the Trophée Jules Verne round-the-world record attempt off Britanny FRA. Good conditions with about 20kn wind made for a quick start and should allow the team of Yann Guichard FRA a record-breaking ride to the equator. This morning UTC after 18 hours of racing, 'Spindrift' has already covered 557 miles, i.e. 135 miles ahead of Francis Joyon FRA's record.
