The 125th Kiel Week was concluded yesterday with the Medal Races, sailed in perfect conditions with sun and a 16kn wind without North American participants.
In the 49ers, the fight for the Medals was very much disputed Kiwi victory at the end, not by the super team Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL finishing 5th only, but Logan Dunning/Oscar Gunn NZL ahead of Przybytek/Kolodzinski POL and Peters/Sterrit GBR. Victoria Jurczok/Anika Lorenz GER remained on top of the 49ersFX ahead of Offermann/De Ruijter NED and Schütt/Nielsby DEN. First in the Finns was Philipp Kasüske GER in front of Ondrej Teply CZE and Jake Lilley AUS. The dominator in the Lasers Radial Josefin Olsson SWE was also the winner of the Medal Race and finished first overall ahead of Manami Doi JPN and Tuula Tenkanen FIN. In the Lasers Standard, Jack Cookson GBR was the clear winner. Thomas Zajac/Barbara Matz AUT defended their first place in the Nacra-17 against Vittorio Bissaro/Maelle Frascari ITA and Lin Cenholt/Christian Lübeck DEN completing the podium.
The Olympic 470s and RS:X windsurfers were not present in Kiel.
