Star - World Championship 2016 - Miami FL, USA - Day 1, the Swiss

The Starboat World Championship 2016 began yesterday with the first race on Biscayne Bay in a 15-18 kn easterly breeze. Three general recall and finally a start under blackflag left three favorites on the list of disqualified boats: Cayard/Fatih USA, Stanjek/Kleen GER and Grael/Almeida BRA.
Winners of race one were George Szabo USA/Steve Mitchell GBR ahead of Luke Lawrence/Ian Coleman USA and Augie Diaz USA/Bruno Prada BRA. The best non-Americans Diego Negri/Sergio Lambertenghi ITA followed on rank 7. The best among the 4 Swiss teams were Christoph Gautschi/Jürg König SUI on the 21st place. Chatagny/Pulfer SUI followed on rank 24.
