 Classes ACVL GeneveRolleGeneve Final results
Variable conditions prevailed during this year's edition of Geneva-Rolle-Geneva. After the start in a 1-2 kn breeze, a modertate Westwind filled in for a speedy downwind ride to Rolle. As mostly in lighter winds, the 28-foot M2-catamarans easily kept the pace of the bigger D35-cats. A thunderstorm with rain followed by lulls especially close to the finish provoked a major close-up of the fleet 300 meter before the line. In a Northwind, all D35 arrived within a minute with Lady-Cat of Xavier Revil FRA as first, followed by 'Mobimo' of Christian Wahl SNG. On rank 3 was 'Team Tilt' of Sébastien Schneiter SNG. The D-35 report. Michel Vaucher CNM with his M2-Cat sailed during the whole race in the middle of the D35's. The lulls ahead and fresher rear winds for the rest of the fleet pushed Nils Palmieri CNV with his M2 'TeamWork' on rank 1 ahead of Fred Moura SNG. The M-2 report.
For the first time, the smaller M3-Catamarans participated, among them 10 Flying Phantoms, the will continue racing in the coming 3 days as class. Behind the Ventilo Pulso, the US Team 'Lupe Tortilla' finished first in the Flying Phantoms ahead of 'Team Tilt', 3rd overall, as second of the class. The classifications and the Flying Phantom report.
