Tomorrow begins the 48th edition of the Trofeo Princesa Sofia on Palma Bay / Mallorca ESP with a considerable Swiss delegation as never in the last years with representatives in 7 of the 10 Olympic events.
Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI, who did not interrupt his racing activity after the Rio Games and climbed on rank 1 of the RS:X male windsurfer World Ranking List with good results during winter, will endeavour to hold his top position. Two other Rio Olympians will start their 2020 Olympic campaign here in Palma: the 470 women team Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI and the 49er team Sébastien Schneiter/Lucien Cujean SUI. High expectations has Maud Jayet SUI, who has achieved some good international results this year already. Two newly formed development teams will start in the 470 men: Kilian Wagen/Joan Herp Morell SUI/ESP and David Biedermann/Jann Schüpbach SUI. New names also in the 49ers with Maxime Bachelin/Arno de Planta SUI and Max Hänssler/Fred Haenssler SUI both in their first season. New is also Nils Theuninck SUI in the Finns, joining the long-time Master Thomas Gautschi SUI. In the Laser Standard, Cyrill Knecht SUI continues his training and racing tour in Spain with the Palma Trophy. Andrea Nordquist SUI is on the Laser Radial entry list.
