Olympic Worldcup 2017 Semaine Olympique Hyeres FRA Day 5 the Swiss
Much wind and big waves prevailed yesterday during the first five Medal Races at the Hyères Worldcup event.
Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI departed with chances for Gold, but the conditions were not at all his preferrend turf and as light-wind specialist, he finished last in the Medal Race and even dropped from the podium as forth, still an excellent overall result after top-performing week.
Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI had a medium day with the ranks 10 and 11 in the 470 women but as 2nd overall now 19 points behind the leaders, their chance for victory are gone. The objective in the Medal Race today is to defend Silver against their opponents 6 resp. 10 points behind.
Maud Jayet SUI terminated the Laser Radial qualifications with a brilliant 2nd race rank advancing on rank 14 overall, leaving her unfortunately out of the Medal Race.
Kilian Wagen/Grégoire Siegwart SUI finished their first Worldcup Regatta on the good 20th final rank.
