Mini 650 - Transcascogne - Les Sables d'Olonne FRA - Leg 2 - Day 1

Yesterday, the start to leg 2 of the Transcasgogne from Aviles ESP at the Spanish North Coast back to Les Sables d'Olonne was given with a wind forecast promising a Northeastely during the whole race: 260 nm upwind ! A split of the fleet was evident with some opting for an easterly course - such as the Protos winner of leg one Ian Lipinski POL, who has already taken the lead - and others heading West, such as Simon Koster SUI, the 2nd of leg 1 who is on the 6th place 19 nm back. In the Series Minis, it is also the most easterly boat of Tom Dolan GBR leading, while Clarisse Cremer FRA, winner of leg 1 in the Series Minis has taken the westerly route and is at present on rank 14 with 12 nm backlog.
