Star Star Sailors League Finals Nassau BAH Day 3
Very light wind - 4-6kn -made yesterday very challenging for the 25 teams competing in the SSL Finals Nassau BAH. The Italians were on fire with Francesco Bruni/Colannino ITA (ranks 4 and 1) and Diego Negri/Sergio Lambertenghi ITA (3/3) in these light conditions. Meanwhile Mark Mendleblatt/Brian Fatih maintained their consistency with a 1, 2 taking over the lead in the qualification series while Robert Scheidt/Henry Böhning BRA slipped to second place with scores of 2 and 19 after a disastrous 2nd upwind mark rounding. Philipp Buhl/Markus Koy GER on rank 5 are the best invited VIP team, and with a 21pts advantage on rank 11, the have excellent chances to make the cut for the next round in the three races planned for today (livestream on this website beginning at 15h UTC). Fighting for a qualification are the teams on the ranks 12-14 with the three past World Champions Kusznierewicz/Zycki POL, Melleby/Revkin NOR and Szabo/Natucci USA. The offshore champions and round-the-globe champion Franck Cammas/Mark Strube FRA, improving his Starboat skills from race to race, is now on rank 16 overall. The forecast for today is for 13-15kn from the south southeast with a fairly flat seaway.
The ranking list, the daily news, the full-lengh replay video of yesterday and the report of Paul Cayard USA, keeping his 4th place overall.
