The fresh Eastwind around 30kn forced the fleet, still sailing closely together, to a long upwind leg direction South. The most easterly 'Vestas' (Charlie Enright USA) is the theoretical leader 5,3nm ahead of 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED). 'Mapfre' with Xavi Fernandez ESP follows 6,4nm on the 2nd position. 'Turn the tide on plastic' (Dee Caffari GBR), the most westerly boat, had the lead for a short moment, but was down on rank 6 this morning with a 12,3nm backlog.
