The two final races of the 2018 Star Western Hemisphere Championship were held in a fresher southeast wind around 15-18kn, perfect conditions for the physically strong 25-year-old Finn crack Jorge Zarif BRA with Guilherme De Almeida BRA winning both heats and climbing on the podium with Bronze. With a perfect final down wind in the last race moving up from 8th to 4th, Lars Grael/Samuel Goncalves BRA defended their overall lead ahead of Paul Cayard/Arthur Lopes USA finishing 2nd with a 3 points backlog. Christoph and Tina Gautschi SUI sailed their best results (20/15) and ended on rank 27 overall.
