The morning Northwind did not fill in on the final day of the RS:X Windsurfing World Championship on Lake Garda ITA, and the final fleetraces had to be cancelled. The best 10 female and male windsurfers ready for the Medal Races were kept waiting, and finally, around 3 p.m. one hour before the time limit, a light Ora breeze enabled racing for the Medals. ----- Yunxiu Lu CHN controlled the race in the RS:X women fleet, winning another important international title. The duel for Silver and Bronze went in favour of Katy Spychakov ISR replacing the defending Champion Lilian De Geus NED on rank 2. ----- The nine Olympic nations berths have been allocated to HKG, BRA, PER, FIN, MEX, HUN, TUR, USA und THA. ----- In the RS:X men, Kiran Badloe NED and Olympic Champion Dorian Van Rijsselberghe NED celebrated a double Dutch victory ...but this time in the opposite sequence compared to last year. Pierre Le Coq FRA dropped on rank 3. ----- The Olympic nation berth went to KOR, HKG, BLR, SUI, LTU, USA, CYP and CZE. ----- The final report and the videos.
