While cruising in the southern pacific, the crew of 'Maiden' spotted an unusual shadow on the water. A huge amount of pumice stones was floating on the surface, and it looked like a beach. They had carefully passed through, when they heard a faint rumbling and the sea started to bubble.
The source of the pumice stone was an underwater volcano that was actually erupting at the time ! Just a few hours later, the volcano reached the surface, and a new island was born ! See the impressive photo report.
