 Mini 650 - Les Sables-Les Acores-Les Sables - Les Sables d'Olonne FRA - Leg 2 - Day 8, Gautier SUI 11 of the 13 Protos and 14 of the 32 Series Minis arrived back at Les Sables in France. Valentin Gautier SUI finished as 8th Series. He was in troubles after half of the leg as his boat electronics and with this the autopilot were out of function. Here the news. In the Protos, François Jambou FRA clearly won ahead of Erwan Le Méné FRA and Jörg Riechers GER. In the Series Minis, Ambrogio Beccaria ITA won both leg and is the superior winner ahead of Felix de Navacelle FRA and Nicolas d'Estais FRA. Approaching the arrival, he distanced his last challenger Erwan Le Méné FRA by an hour. Overall winner is François Jambou FRA, winner of leg one, who finished 4th yesterday with a backlog of just 2 hours. Le Méné FRA and Riechers GER occupy the ranks 2 and 3.
In the Series Minis, only Ambrogio Beccaria ITA, winner of leg 1, crossed the finish line in Les Sables. Félix De Navacelle FRA und Nicolas D'Estais FRA on the ranks 2 and 3 had 50nm to sail this morning CET, probably also their ranks in the overall classifications.

Gautier SUI Yesterday, Jörg Riechers GER finished first in Les Sables d'Olonne FRA as winner in the Mini Protos having raced at an average speed of 9,1kn in the leg 2 off the offshore race.  Mini 650 - Les Sables-Les Acores-Les Sables - Leg 2 - Day 4 The fleet is making good progress in a 20kn rear wind.
This morning UTC, the leader of the Protos Erwan Le Méné FRA had 330nm left to the finish that he will probably reach tomorrow afternoon. Jörg Riechers GER sailing on a northern course is only 0,5nm behind. François Jambou FRA, the dominating winner of leg 1 follows with a 41nm backlog on rank 4.
In the Series Minis, Ambrogio Beccaria ITA extended his lead on 19nm. The fight for rank 2 remains close: Nicolas D'Estais FRA on rank 2 is only 3nm ahead of Félix de Navacelle FRA. Valentin Gautier SUI follows as 5th with a 43nm deficit.

On next Tueday, the start will be given for leg 2 back to Les Sables d'Olonne. In both classes, the leading boats are the clear favorites for the overall victory, as François Jambou FRA in the Protos and Ambrogio Beccaria ITA in the Series Minis have substantial advantages.

 Mini 650 - Les Sables-Les Acores-Les Sables - Leg 1 - Day 12 As expected, Ambrogio Beccaria ITA finished leg 1 in Horta as first of the Series Minis. This morning at 7hrs crossed Félix De Navacelle FRA the line as 2nd, while the fight for rank 3 will probably be decided on the finish line only between Amélie Grassi FRA and Valentin Gautier SUI separated by one mile only 19nm before the arrival. They are expected by this afternoon.
In the Protos after the winner François Jambou FRA and the second-ranked Erwan Le Méné FRA, Axel Trehin FRA and Jörg Riechers GER as 3rd and 4th arrived at Horta yesterday afternoon.

The lull conditions of the Acores Anticyclone marked the final hours of his race. Today, Axel Trehin FRA (35nm ahead of the arrival) and another 9nm back Jörg Riechers GER will arrive in Horta. În the Series Minis, Ambrogio Beccaria ITA has 51nm left to the finish. Felix de Navacelle FRA as 2nd was 68nm behind, Valentin Gautier SUI on 3rd is another back.

And this inspite of the fact, that the communication electronic broke down and he was withoun weather forecasts and positions. His advantage on the opponents is over a day and he will hardly loose his first place overall during leg 2. Erwan Le Méné FRA had still 57nm to sail this morning. The first non-French Jörg Riechers GER on 4th is 123nm behind.
In the Series Minis, Ambrogio Beccaria ITA was 90nm from the arrival this morning. Julien Letissier FRA new on rank 2 was 99nm behind. Position changes are possible in the final approach to Horta this evening.

In the Prototypes, François Jambou FRA, who took advantage of the fresher winds in the north, was able to extend his lead over Erwan Le Mene FRA to 30 miles.  Mini 650 - Les Sables-Les Acores-Les Sables - Leg 1 - Day 5 After three days of downwind sailing in moderate winds, the fleet of 56 minis reached a westerly frontal system. In about 20 knots of wind, they are now sailing upwind. Among the leaders in the protos François Jambou FRA is the only one who picked a more northerly route. He is now 21 miles ahead of Erwan Le Mené FRA. In the fleet of the series Minis Ambrogio Beccaria ITA is still leading ahead of Nicolas d'Estais FRA who is 20 miles behind. There are still around 650 miles to go to the finish in the Azores. Several westerly frontal systems with up to 40 knots of wind are still ahead of the 56 solo skippers.  Mini 650 - Les Sables-Les Acores-Les Sables - Day 3 Yesterday, light winds prevailed in the first leg in the direction of Azores. The fleet of 56 solo skippers is still relatively close together. Yesterday, they passed the Cape Finisterre at the northwestern tip of Spain. The group which is sailing a slightly more southern route was a little bit faster. Erwan Le Méné FRA leads among the Protos, with François Jambou FRA now in second place, 5.5 miles behind. Jörg Riechers GER dropped back to fourth, 17 miles behind. In moderate winds of around 10kn the start of the 2,500 -mile race to Horta and back took place yesterday in Les Sables d'Olonne. This morning, Jörg Riechers GER led the Prototype category, 0.5 miles ahead of Vincent Busnel FRA.
