J/70, Yngling Class/Swiss Championships RV Brunnen
With two races on the final day yesterday, the two national championships could finally be validated. The major weather change since last Thursday had massively impaired the event, as the Lake Uri thermal breeze never really filled in.
Markus Wieser GER and his team grasped the J/70 Class Champion's title 5 points ahead of Tom Studer CVN. Nelson Mettraux CNV moved up on rank 3 on the final day, inspite of the fact, that his brother-crew Bryan was called urgently to Cardiff on Saturday evening to replace the injured Nils Frey on the 'Alinghi 'GC32-Cat. 23 teams participate without the top teams sailing Round 4 of the Sailing Super-League in Davos (see separate news).
No changes occurred in the Ynglings where Thomas Kristiansen SCE finished as Swiss Champion 3 points ahead of Christoph Bichsel RCO, Bronze went to Peter Müller YCZ. 17 teams participated.
All results.
