The RS:X men windsurfer Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI was the first Swiss engaged in the Medal Race yesterday, but his chances for the podium vanished after a premature start disqualification. He finished on rank 6 overall.
Today, Nils Theuninck SUI will be fighting for a Medal in the Finns. As 4th, he is only 9 points behind the leader Max Salminen and his chances for the podium intact in the double-points-no-discard Medal Race today.
All other Swiss missed the Medal Race. Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI on rank 13 in the 470 women are only 3 points behind the 10th place. Eliot Merceron SUI dropped on rank 20 overall after a premature start in the Lasers. Maud Jayet SUI finished the competition on the rather disappointing 30th place in the Lasers Radial. In the 470 men, Kilian Wagen/Grégoire Siegwart SUI had their best day (ranks 8/12) and moved up on the 24th position.
