 Interboot - Friedrichshafen GER - successful in every respect A large number of watersports' enthusiasts visited to INTERBOOT in Friederichshafen/Lake Constance GER on the second weekend as well. More floor space, more boats to see, more entertaining activities and ..... more business for the exhibitors. The 55th INTERBOOT was a success ! 90'500 tickets were sold (2015: 90'700) during the past 9 days. 471 exhibitors from 17 nations presented novelties, products and services of all kind of watersports.

Onyx, Dynamic 35, Lacustre, Aphrodite, m2 - Autumn Trophy - Zürcher YC

 Onyx, Dynamic 35, Lacustre, Aphrodite, m2 - Autumn Trophy - Zürcher YC The wind on Lake Zurich was very light over the past weekend and the five Yacht classes present completed only one race each. Hans Stöckli SCMd won in the Onyx, Kaspar Wälti and his team was first in the Lacustres, Philippe Guyer was on top of the Dynamics, Martin Stockar finished first in the Aphrodites and Balz Hotz was the best in the m2-catamaranen.

Dolphin - Tune-Up-Race - RC Oberhofen

Perfect Indian Summer weather prevailed on Lake Thoune and in solid thermal breeze conditions, 4 races on Saturday and 2 races on Sunday were completed. Most of the teams enrolled for the Swiss Championship to begin on the next weekend - except the teams engaged in the Swiss Sailing League or Champions' League - did participate in this tune-up race. Team Studer finished first ahead of Team Gregorini and Team Emanuel Müller. The ranking list.

Classes ACVL - CN Versoix - La Double - 128 two person teams !

 Classes ACVL - CN Versoix - La Double - 128 two person teams ! 128 (!) two-person teams participated at La Double, the last important ACVL regatta on Lake Geneva off Versoix. The line honours went to the Psaros 40 ‘Syz & Co’ with Jean Psarofaghis/Philippe Gay SNG, and at the same time winners in calculted time. First in the Surprise (32 teams) was ‘Velasco’ with Arnaud Marchado/Alexandre Garroy CNS. On top of the Grand Surprise were Bertrand BorterYann Perret with their ’Little Nemo II’. Winners in the Toucans was ‘Septante-Quatre’ with Marc-Antoine Rouget/Marc Tournier CNV. All ranking lists and the photos.

J/70 - Swiss Sailing League - Finale - Zürcher SC - Final results

Apparently, there was no sailing at the Swiss Sailing League Final on Lake Zurich yesterday. Consequently, the RC Bodensee with Massimo Soriano, Lea Rüegg, Stephan Zurfluh and Jonathan Rutishauser are the National Champions SSL 2016. While the A-team of the RCB earned Silver at the Champions League Final on Sardinia ITA, a forth place on Lake Zurich was sufficient for Massimo Soriano RCB steering to take the Swiss title. The SN Genève and the SN Rolloise with Olivier de Cocatrix occupy the ranks 2 and 3 in the overall ranking list 2016. Winner in Zürich was the Thunersee YC with Sailing-League President Patrick Zaugg.

Musto-Skiff - SC Oberer Walensee

Best thermal breeze conditions prevailed over the past weekend on the Walensee. The 14 Musto Skiffs had a busy Saturday afternoon with 5 races in a 2-4 bft wind. On Sunday, the breeze filled in later in the day allowing to add another two races. The outstanding winner of the event was Frithjof Schwerdt with 5 bullets followed by Bernd Jahn GER and Roger Oswald SUI at equal points. The ranking list has not yet been posted on the class website this morning.

 J/70 - Sailing Champions League 2016 - Act 2 - Porto Cervo ITA - Day 2, the Swiss The first races of the Champions-League-Final were sailed yesterday in Porto Cervo ITA in light winds. Five rounds have been completed and the Deutsche Touring YC (GER) showed a top performance with the ranks 2/2/1/2/2. The interim's rank 1 with a 5 points' lead is the result. The RC Bodensee (SUI) with Julian Flessati SUI and the defending Champion Koneglig Norsk SF (NOR) follow behind at equal points. The RC Oberhofen (SUI) with Stefan Seger SUI is on rank 11 among the 32 teams.

 J/70 - Swiss Sailing League - Final - Zürcher SC - Day 2 As soon as the fog vanished over Lake Zurich yesterday morning, a light 5 to 8 kn breeze filled in and 3 more flights of the SSL Final could be sailed. With the ranks 1/1/2, the Thunersee YC with Patrick Zaugg took the lead ahead of the SN Rolloise with Olivier de Cocatrix and the RCO Oberhofen with Alain Stettler follow at equal points. In the Annual Classification, the RC Bodensee is still on top, but the SN Geneva 2 points back is not far away.

 Dragon, 5.5m, Classic Yachts - Régates Royales - Cannes FRA - Final results, the Swiss The Régates Royales in Cannes were concluded yesterday in a 15 kn Southwind.
The Dragons completed two races and Anatoly Loginov RUS and his team defended the first place with a 15 points' lead on Jonathan Brown GBR. Javier Scherk ESP follows on rank 3. The best of the three Swiss Dirk Oldenburg GER finished on rank 12. With three race wins on the last day, Arend-Jan Pasman NED moved on top of the 5.5m clearly ahead of Hannes Waimer GER with his prominent crew (Markus Koy GER, Diego Negri ITA). Alain Marchand SUI on rank 4 missed the podium by 3 points. The Classic Yachts (split in 8 categories) sailed a relatively short up-and-down course, a spectacle with their up to 1'300 m2 sails.

 Star - Oktoberfest-Regatta - Ammersee GER - Day 1, the Swiss The 55th edition of the traditional Oktoberfest Regatta began yesterday on the Ammersee with one race, won by the past-Worldchampion Roberto Benamati ITA with Alberto Ambrosini ITA. Manfred Michl/Rudi Habermayer GER and Jean-Pascal Chatagny/Serge Pulfer SUI finished on the ranks 2 and 3. Good ranks by the othe Swiss teams with Urs Infanger/Oleg Tchetchine SUI on 9th, Christoph Gautschi/Tina Gautschi SUI on 13th and Kurt and Markus Scheidegger SUI on 15th among the over 50 teams from 6 nations.

 J/70 - Swiss Sailing League - Final - Zürcher SC - Day 1 Contrary to the wind forecasts announcing calm conditions, Lake Zurich decided to welcome the SSL finalists with a fair 2-3 bft Southwind and three races have been completed. Finishing 3/1/1, the RC Oberhofen with Alain Stettler has taken the lead at equal points with SN Rolloise with Olivier de Cocatrix on rank 2. Another point behind follows the RC Bodensee on 3rd keeping them on rank 1 in the overall Annual Championship rankings. Their direct opponents, the SN Geneva, finished on rank 5.

The Final of the Sailing Champions League 2016 begins today in Porto Cervo on Sardinia with 32 teams representing Clubs from 13 nations, among them Switzerland with the RC Oberhofen of Stefan Seger, the RC Bodensee of Julian Flessati and the SN Genève with Nicolas Anklin. The official preview.

Dragon, 5.5m, Classic Yachts - Régates Royales - Cannes - Day 3, the Swiss

 Dragon, 5.5m, Classic Yachts - Régates Royales - Cannes - Day 3, the Swiss Thundery weather influenced racing yesterday at the Régates Royales in Cannes FRA. The Classic Yachts sailed at least a shortened long-distance race on La Napoule Gulf, while the Dragons completed a race on Juan Bay. In addition, the 5.5m began their Regates Royales with two heats.
Despite of a 17th race rank, Nicola Friesen GER and his team remained on top of the Dragons. Anatoly Loginov and Vasilij Senatorov RUS follow at equal points on the ranks 2 and 3. Dirk Oldenburg SUI dropped on rank 19 among the 50 teams.
Finishing on the ranks 1 and 2, Alain Marchand SUI is the first leader in the 5.5m. Arend-Jan Pasman NED and Hannes Wuilmer GER follow on the positions 2 and 3 among the 16 teams from 8 nations.

 Dragon, Classic Yachts - Régates Royales - Cannes FRA - Day 2, the Swiss The traditional Régates Royales in Cannes, open for the Dragons and Classic Yachts, did begin on Monday.
First after 4 races in the 50 boats' Dragon fleet is Vasiliy Senatorov RUS and his team ahead of Nicola Friesen GER and Dmitry Samokhin RUS. Dirk Oldenburg GER on rank 16, starting under Swiss flag, is the best of the 4 SUI teams. The Classic Yachts sail in 8 different categories and have finished 3 races up to now.  Star - German Championship 2016 - Starnberg GER - Final results, the Swiss The Starboat German Championship 2016 on Lake Starnberg was concluded yesterday with the races 7 and 8. Finishing 4th in the first race was good enough for Johannes Polgar/Carsten Witt GER to grasp the title and they did not have to sail the last heat. Hubert Merkelbach/Frithjof Kleen GER and Reinhard Schmidt/Paul Sradnik GER completed the podium. Bernhard Seger/Walter Oess SUI finished 10th among the 45 participants.

 Luthi 870 et Yngling - CN Prangins - Final results Fickle winds on a rainy Saturday and a more stable Southwest breeze on Sunday allowed the Luthi 870 and Ynglings to complete 6 races each. Arnaud Gavairon CNM on 'Aza' won in the Luthi 870 Class ahead of Marin Lauber on 'Sharky' and Alfred Zbinden on 'Syneco'. Winner in the Ynglings was Giovanni Müller ZSC and his team ahead of Thomas Beck TYC and Jürg Wenger TYC.

Optimist, 420, Laser 4.7 & Radial - Championnat des 3 Lac - YC Bielersee

Over the past weekend, the 4th and last Round of the Jura Lakes Region Youth Championship took place in Wingreis, Lake Bienne.
Nilo Schärer BT won all 6 races in the Optimists and herewith also the Annual Championship among the 50 ranked youth sailors. First in the 420s were Florian Geissbühler/Livio Erni BT with 6 bullets, but the overall Annual Title went to Chassot/Niederhäuser YCB. Joshua Richner SCM was the clear winner in the Laser 4.7, but in the Annual Rankings, Lucas Firouz BT took the title. Last but not least the Lasers Radial, where Edouard Bueche BT finished first in Wnigreis and in the overall Annual Rankings.

 Interboot - Friedrichshafen GER - Over 34'000 visitors on opening weekend Over 34'000 visitors came to see the Interboot in Friedrichshafen during the successful opening weekend. Until next Sunday, 471 exhibitors are presenting their watersports' novelties, products and services at the traditional Boat Show at (and on) Lake Constance. Many special events and do-it-yourself activities ashore and afloat make a visit both entertaining and informative.

 Skud 18, Hanse 303 - Sailability Class Championship 2016 - SC Cham - Final results The Hansa Class and the Skud-18 sailed their 5th Sailability Class Championship on Lake Zoug over the past weekend with three races in light winds in each fleet. The winners were: Skud 18 Jochi Röthlisberger/Christian Hiller SUI ahead of Matteo Balbo/Patrick Parker SUI and Willi Lutz/Claudia Schmid SUI. Hansa 303 Christian Hiller SUI ahead of Frederic Magnier FRA and Jerémie Chauchoy FRA. Hansa 303 double Frederic Magnier/Jean-Philippe Lepretre FRA ahead of Jerémie Chauchoy/Jérome Dard FRA and Konstantinos Tzaneris/Swiss Disable Sailing SUI.

 Laser - Europacup 2016 - Attersee AUT - Final results, the Swiss The Austrian Act of the Laser Europa Cup 2016 on the Attersee was concluded yesterday with a last race.
Martin Lehner AUT made everything clear in the Lasers Standard, winning the last race and taking the overall victory 2 points ahead of Jean-Baptist Janca CZE. Gabriele Besozzi ITA finished 3rd. Austrian was the winner also in the Lasers Radial with Jakob Flachsberger AUT. Roman Stelzl AUT completed the podium. Thomas Zimmermann SUI moved up on rank 5. First in the women's was Barbara Matz AUT ahead of Anna Barabino ITA. Her brother Cesare Barabino ITA finished on top of the Lasers 4.7. Benjamin Prikryl CZE and Jacopo Gandrus ITA followed on the ranks 2 and 3. Alessandro Maisano SUI was 8th. The best girl was Lucie Keblova CZE at equal points with Olivia Habegger SUI 2nd.

 Star - German Championship 2016 - Starnberg GER - Day 2, the Swiss Good conditions prevailed on the second day of the Starboat German Championship on Lake Starnberg, and again, three races could be competed. With the day ranks 1/1/2, Johannes Polgar/Carsten Witt GER moved up on top with a solid 10 points' lead on Hubert Merkelbach/Frithjof Kleen GER on 2nd. Thanks to a race win, Reinhard Schmidt/Paul Sradnick GER advanced on the 3rd place. Bernhard Seger/Walter Oess SUI are now on the 8th position.

 Esse 850 - Swiss Championship 2016 - YC Ascona - Final results Two races were sailed on the last day of the Esse Swiss Championship on the Lago Maggiore, both won by Paulo Sevestre/Philippe Gaillard/Yvan Staub/Arnaud Butty CVL who are the outstanding Swiss Champions with nothing but race wins. Luca Wullschleger YCAs and Stefano Gautschi YCAs complete the podium. 19 teams from 3 nations participated.

 D35-Catamaran - D35-Trophy - YC Genève - Final results The D35 catamarans sailed another 3 races on the second day of the Geneva GP in light and variable Westwinds and wet-cold weather. The 49er Olympian Sébastien Schneiter SNG on 'Tilt' defended the first place ahead of 'Ladycat' with Xavier Revil FRA and 'Alinghi' with Ernesto Bertarelli SNG. In the Annual Tour rankings, 'Ladycat' remains on top with a 9 points' lead. 'Alinghi' and 'Team Tilt' only one point behind will duel for rank 2 in the remaining races.

 Laser - Europacup 2016 - Attersee AUT - Day 2, the Swiss After the windless opening day at the Laser Europa Cup Regatta on the Attersee, a rain front brought a perfect 10-25 kn breeze and 3 races per class have been completed.
In the Lasers Standard, Martin Lehner AUT is on the first place one point ahead of Jean-Baptiste Janca CZE. The Laser Radial leaders are Barbara Matz AUT in the women and Jakob Flachberger AUT in the men winning all 3 races. Thomas Zimmermann SUI follows on rank 9. Shared lead in the Laser 4.7 girls with Olivia Habegger SUI and Lucie Keblova CZE. In the boys, Cesare Barabino ITA is one point ahead of Benjamin Prykril CZE. Alessandro Maisano SUI follows on rank 9.

The favorites have already taken the top positions with Werner Fritz/Uli Seeberger GER and Hubert Merkelbach/Frithjof Kleen GER on top at equal points. One point behind follow Johannes Polgar/Carsten Witt GER on 3rd. Bernhard Seger/Walter Oess SUI are on the 9th place among the 45 teams.

 Esse 850 - Swiss Championship 2016 - YC Ascona - Day 3 Finally, a good thermal breeze filled in on the third day of the Esse Swiss Championship on the Lago Maggiore, and 4 races were completed, all won by Paulo Sevestre CVL and his team. No doubt, that he will be able to defend his last year's title with this outstanding performance. Luca Wullschleger YCAs and his team follow on rank 2 with a clear advantage on the 3rd-ranked Josef Schuchter SCStä.

 D35-Catamaran - Grand Prix YC Genève - Day 1 The D-35 GP of the YC Geneva began yesterday with 3 races sailed in a light 6 to 8 kn breeze. 'Team Tilt' with Sébastien Schneiter SNG has taken the lead with the ranks 7/2/1. 'Alinghi' with Ernesto Bertarelli SNG on 2nd is only one point back, and also Yann Guichard FRA ('Lady-Cat') 2 points behind remains in the race for victory.

 Bénéteau Figaro - Horta-Douarnenez - Leg 2 - Final results, Justine Mettraux SUI Shortly after press deadline yesterday morning, Charlie Dalin FRA on his 'Macif' crossed the finish line of leg 2 and after winning leg 1, the clear overall victory was without doubt. With a backlog of 1 hr 37 min, Yoann Richomme FRA arrived as 2nd moving up on rank 2 overall as well. As 3rd in leg 2 and overall follows Xavier Macaire FRA.  Esse 850 - Swiss Championship 2016 - YC Ascona - Day 2 Almost no wind prevailed on the Lago Maggiore on day 2 of the Esse Swiss Championship, but finally, one race could be complete with the defending champion Paulo Sevestre CVL and his team as winners, confirming their role as favorites.  Star - German Championship 2016 - Starnberg GER - Day 1, the Swiss Yesterday was day one of the German Starboat Championship on Lake Starberg, but the wind was apparently absent. 49 teams from 3 nations are on the entry list, among them the favorites Merkelbach/Kleen GER and Polgar/Witt GER. Good chances have also the Swiss Champions Bernhard Seger/Walter Oess SUI.

 Bénéteau Figaro - Horta-Douarnenez - Leg 2 - Day 5, Justine Mettraux SUI At press deadline this morning (6h UTC), Charlie Dalin FRA had only a few miles left to the finish line in Douarnenez FRA. With a 12 miles' lead Yoann Richomme FRA, the leg win will be his, and as winner of leg 1, the overall victory cannot escape. Sailing only 2 miles behind the 2nd, Xavier Macaire FRA on the 3rd place has still chances to finish 2nd. Justine Mettraux SUI defended her 7th place with 67 miles to go to the finish.

As first exhibition in view of the season 2016/2017, novelties and trends for watersports' equipment and services will be presented ashore and afloat on Lake Constance. 471 exhibitors from 17 nations present their products in 8 halls, on a small lake at the exhibition and the INTERBOOT-Harbour with sailboats and powerboats as well as stand-up-paddeling, wake-, kite- and surfboarding.
