 Hansa - World Championship 2016 - Medemblik NED - Final results The World Championship 2016 of the Hansa Classes, organised back-to-back after the Paralympic Worlds on the Ijssel-Meer, was concluded yesterday in Medemblik. In the Hansa 303, Switzerland grasp Gold twice: In the 303-two-person-teams, Patrick Maurer SUI with his crew was first, in the 303-solo-classifications, Willi Lutz SUI took the Gold Medal.  2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Paralympic World Championship 2016 - Medemblik NED - Final results The Paralympic Classes World Championship 2016 ended yesterday with two races.
The big advantage of Heiko Kröger GER in the 2.4m keelboat before the last races yesterday was more than sufficient to grasp the World Champion's title, his 9th in the class. Damien Séguin FRA and Matt Bugg AUS earned Silver and Bronze. Clear victory in the Skud-18 as well where Monika Gibes/Piotr Cichocki POL, a new name on top of the class, easily defended their first place. The defending champions Daniel Fitzgibbon/Liesl Tesch AUS dropped on 3rd behind Alexandra Rickham/Nikki Birrell GBR after a disqualification. The closest fight for the title was in the Sonars where only the last downwind played in favour of Alphonsus Doerr/Hugh Freund/Brad Kendell USA finishing one point ahead of John Robertson/Hannah Stodel/Stephen Thomas GBR. The Bronze Medal went to Colin Harrison AUS and his team.

 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Paralympic World Championship 2016 - Medemblik NED - Day 4 After yesterday's two races and the final regatta today, nothing has been decided yet in the Paralympc Worlds on the Ijssel-Meer.
Heiko Kröger GER, best of the day with the ranks 1 and 3 in the 2.4m keelboats has now an 8 points lead on Damien Séguin FRA and his chances for the title look good. Only 2 points behind the French follows Matt Bugg AUS. The solid lead of the surprise team Monika Gibes/Piotr Chichocki POL over the tied defending champions Daniel Fitzgibbon/Liesl Tesch AUS and Alexandra Rickham/Nikki Birrell GBR in the SKUD-18 is 12 points. First in the Sonars are Alphonsus Doerr/Hugh Freund/Brad Kendell USA 4 points ahead of John Robertson GBR and his team. Colin Harrison AUS, Lasse Klötzing GER and Aleksander Wang-Hansen NOR have all still a chance for a Medal.

 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Paralympic World Championship 2016 - Medemblik NED - Day 3 The changes weather conditions with moderate winds at the Paralympic World Championship on the Ijssel-Meer closed the ranks on top of all three classes.
Heiko Kröger GER took the lead in the 2.4m keelboats ahead of Matt Bugg AUS at equal points, and only one point behind follows the former leader Damien Séguin FRA. In the Skud-18, Monika Gibes/Piotr Cichocki POL extended their lead on 9 points. As best of the day (1/2), Daniel Fitzgibbon/Liesl Tesch AUS advanced on rank 2. Alexandra Rickham/Nikki Birrell GBR and John McRoberts/Jackie Gay CAN follow at equal points with the Australians on the ranks 3 and 4. In the Sonars, John Robertson GBR and his team are now 2 points ahead of the tied Alphonsus Doerr USA and Lasse Klötzing GER with their teams. Another 2 points behind are Aleksander Wang-Hansen NOR and Colin Harrison AUS with chances for a Medal as well. Three races are left.

 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Paralympic World Championship 2016 - Medemblik NED - Day 2 The light wind on day two provoked changes in the overall rankings of the Paralympics World Championship 2016, and only Damien Séguin FRA succeeded to defend his first place in the 2.4m keelboat inspite of the ranks 5 and 4 yesterday after the two bullets on the opening day. Matt Bugg AUS stayed on rank 2 but he lost some points on Séguin. The day winner Heiko Kröger GER moved up on rank 3. In the Skud-18, the surprise team Monika Gibes/Piotr Chichocki POL are the new leaders with the day ranks 2 and 1. Alexandra Rickham/Nikki Birrell GBR on the 2nd place are 4 points behind. In the Sonars, the new leader is Alphonsus Doerr USA with his team, ranks 1 and 3 yesterday replacing John Robertson GBR and his team, ranks 7/7, on top. Finishing twice on 2nd, Lasse Klötzing GER and his team moved up on the 3rd position.

 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Paralympic World Champiomnship 2016 - Medemblik NED - Day 1 Challenging conditions with a 20 kn breeze and the short and steep Ijssel-Meer chop prevailed on the first day of the Paralympic Classes World Championship. This was above all for the 2.4m a wet affair. Damien Séguin FRA mastered the conditions the best winning both heats of the day. Heiko Kröger GER (2/2) and Matt Bugg AUS (3/3) are the first chasers. Shared lead in the Skud 18 with Alexandra Rickham/Nikki Birrell GBR and the surprising Monika Gibes/Piotr Cichocki POL. Daniel Fitzgibbon/Liesl Tesch AUS follow on rank 3. John Robertson/ Hannah Stodel/Stephen Merget GBR won both heats in the Sonars ahead of the co-favorites Colin Harrison AUS and Bruno Jourdren FRA with their teams on the ranks 2 and 3.

 Laser, 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Garda Trentino Olympic Week - Riva/Malcesine ITA - Final results Only the Lasers Standard finished the Medal Race yesterday in a slackening wind, and all other classes waited in vain for the breeze. Rain and very light winds prevailed during the whole Olympic Garda Week, conditions that are very unusual at this time of the season on this lake.
Winning the Medal Race of the Lasers Standard, it was Sergei Komissarov RUS who climbed on top of the rankings on the last day of the event. Nicolo Vill ITA and Victor Teply CZE completed the podium. The final rankings of the other classes are: Laser Radial Vasileia Karachaliou GRE, 2.4m Matt Bugg AUS ahead of Dee Smith USA, Skud-18 Alexandra Rickham/Niki Birrell GBR and Sonar John Robertson/Hannah Stodel/Steve Thomas GBR.

 Laser, 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Garda Trentino Olympic Week - Riva/Malcesine ITA - Final results, the Swiss Only the Lasers Standard finished the Medal Race yesterday in a slackening wind, and all other classes waited in vain for the breeze.  Laser, 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Garda Trentino Olympic Week - Riva/Malcesine ITA - Day 4 The grey unfriendly weather stayed on at the Garda Olympic Week but with a less strong Northwind as on the previous day. The two Laser fleets off Riva completed only one race, while the Paralympics in Malcesine finished two heats. Today, the Lasers will sail their Medal Races. The 2.4m, the Skuds-18 and the Sonars have another two races on the program
No change on top of the Lasers Standard with Victor Teply CZE 2 points in front of Sergei Komissarov RUS, Nicolo Villa ITA follows as 3rd. The discard and a good 3rd race rank helped Nils Theuninck SUI to advance on rank 5 with a 13 points' backlog on Teply CZE. The podium is within reach. For Janik Roempp SUI on rank 20 however, the Olympic Garda is over.
In the Lasers Radial, Vasileia Karachaliou GRE is in the lead with a 4 points' advantage on Valentina Balbi ITA. Dolores Moreira URU follows as 3rd. Andrea Nordquist SUI on rank 5, 11 points behind the first, participates in today's double-point-no-discard Medal Race and has still chances for the podium. Lucie Ben-Amor SUI missed the final of the 10 best by 6 points only.
in the 2.4m, Matt Bugg AUS extended his lead on 11 points. Up again on rank 2 is Dee Smith USA. In the duel of the best Skud-18-teams of the past years, Daniel Fitzgibbon/Liesl Tesch AUS reduced the backlog on the leading Alexandra Rickham/Nikki Birrell GBR to one point. In the Sonars too, a close duel between John Robertson GBR and his team and Colin Harrison AUS one point behind will decide on the overall win in the last races today.

 Laser, 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Garda Trentino Olympic Sailing Week - Riva/Malcesine ITA - Day 2 Rain stopped the thermal breeze on Lake Garda and no races were sailed yesterday. After the initial races - one for the Lasers (Riva)and two for the Paralympics (Malcesine) - on the opening day, the leaders are: Laser Standard Victor Teply CZE, Laser Radial Vasileia Karachaliou GRE, 2.4m Dee Smith USA, Skud 18 Daniel Fitzgibbon/Liesl Tesch AUS and Sonar Colin Harrison AUS and John Robertson GBR with their teams at equal points. The rainy weather will stay on according to the forecast.

 Laser, 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Garda Trentino Olympic Week - Riva/Malcesine ITA - Day 1 The Garda Trentino Olympic Week began yesterday on Lake Garda, but considering the tight regatta calendar of the Olympic Classes in view of the Rio Olympics, only the Lasers and Paralympic Classes showed up this year. The Lasers sailed one race off Riva, the Paralympics two races off Malcesine.
The first leader in the Lasers Radial is Vasileia Karachaliou GRE ahead of Nurliyana Mohmad-Latif MAS and Valentina Balbi ITA. 21 participants. The Laser Standard leader is Victor Teply CZE ahead of Karim Fillah CAN and Marco Benini ITA.
Dee Smith USA is on top of the 18 2.4m keelboats after two races. Borja Melgarejo ESP and Matt Bugg AUS follow on the ranks 2 and 3. In the Skud-18 (9 Teams), the favorites Daniel Fitzgibbon/Liesl Tesch AUS are on top ahead of Alexandra Rickham/Niki Birrell GBR. Best of the only 5 Sonars are Colin Harrison AUS and his team.

 2.4m, Sonar - Paralympic Worldcup 2016 - Hyères FRA - Final results The two Paralympic Classes concluded the Hyères Worldcup with two races yesterday.
Matthew Bugg AUS underlined his good form with the race ranks 1 and 2 yesterday and is the clear overall winner in the 2.4m keelboats ahead of Björnar Erikstad NOR and Damien Séguin FRA.
In the Sonars, Aleksander Wang-Hansen/Marie Solberg/Per-Eugen Kristiansen NOR climbed on rank 1 on the final day ahead of Hanna Stodel GBR and Alphonsus Doerr USA with their teams, completing the podium.

 2.4m, Sonar - Paralympic Worldcup 2016 - Hyères FRA - Day 3 In both Paralympic Classes, the points' gaps between the leading boats are very small before the last races today.
In the 2.4m, the advantage of Matthew Bugg AUS on Helena Lucas GBR is down on 2 points, and only another point back, Björnar Erikstad NOR and Damien Séguin FRA have a real chance for the title as well. New leaders in the Sonars with Alphonsus Doerr USA and his team, but the best of the day (1/2) Aleksander Wang-Hansen NOR and his team are only 2 points behind. The team of Hanna Stodel GBR descended on the 3rd place.
