On December 26 at 2 a.m. GMT, the start to the 58th Sydney-Hobart-Race will be given. In the meantime, it has been confirmed that the seventh super-maxi 'Etihead' will participate. Only 13 day after breaking the 44 meter mast, a replacement has been flown in from France and mounted on the boat (see photo). The installation will be finalised just a few moments before the start. The latest weather forecast announces now variable conditions, caused by a depression passing by. After an upwind course following the Australian coast, a north-westerly breeze will allow for some fast spinnaker rides during the passage of the Bass Street, before the fleet touches a westerly storm front with wind speeds of up to 50 kn.
