 Olympic Worldcup 2017 - Semaine Olympique - Hyères FRA - Day 3 Light winds prevailed on the third day of the Hyères Worldcup. This morning already, a strong Mistral has filled in already, and it remains to be seem, whether races will be started today.
Mantis/Kagialis GRE and Belcher/Ryan AUS continue to fight for the lead in the 470 men with the Australian Olympic Champions just one point behind the Greeks. In the 470 women, the first position is now shared by Zegers/Van Veen NED and Fahrni/Siegenthaler SUI.
In the 49ers, Fletcher/Bithell GBR are now the sole leaders 2 points ahead of Botin/Lopez ESP. Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA remain on top of the 49erFX but thanks to three race wins, Victoria Jurczok/Anika Lorenz GER have reduced the backlog on 10 points.
In the Finns, Nicholas Heiner NED has taken the lead ahead of the tied Fabien Pic FRA and Ben Cornish GBR 9 points back on rank 2. Moana Vaireaux/Manon Audinet FRA just kept the first place in the Nacra 17 with Fernando Echevarri/Tara Pacheco ESP on rank 2 at equal points.
In the RS:X men windsurfers, Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI extended his lead on 6 points ahead of Shahar Zubari ISR on 2nd. In the RS:X women windsurfers, Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL has now a 10 points advantage on Noga Geller ISR.

Laser - Olympic Worldcup 2017 - Semaine Olympique - Hyères FRA - Day 3

 Laser - Olympic Worldcup 2017 - Semaine Olympique - Hyères FRA - Day 3 Moderate winds of initially 8 kn, increacing to 14 kn during the day persisted also on the third day of the Hyères Worldcup. In the second half of the past night, the Mistral filled in and winds around 30-40 kn can be expected.
The Lasers Standard sailed 3 races, and Matthew Wearn AUS is now on top ahead of Pavlos Kontides CYP 2nd with a 4 points' backlog, and Francesco Marrai ITA at equal points with Tom Burton AUS on the 3rd positions 21 points back.
The new leader in the Lasers Radial is Maria Erdi HUN, as all others in the top places finished the second race way down in the rankings. Nevertheless, Evi Van Acker BEL remains close as second with a one point backlog only. Tuula Tenkanen FIN follows on rank 3. The Olympic Champion Marit Bouwmeester NED abandoned the series prematurely after a good first day with a 2nd race rank.

 Bénéteau Figaro - Solo Maître Coq - Les Sables d'Olonne FRA - Day 4 The 40 Bénéteau Solo-Skipper at the "Solo Maitre Coq" regatta started yesterday to their 300 nm longdistance race. The fleet made good progress and the first boats have allready completed half of the distance. Nicolas Lunven FRA leads closely followed by Sébastien Simon FRA and Erwan Tabarly FRA.

 RC44 - Championship Tour, Act 1 - Sotogrande ESP - Day 1 Round 1 of the RC44 Annual Championship began yesterday in Sotogrande ESP in variable weather conditions. 4 races were completed and 'Team Nika' of Vladimir Prosikhin RUS with Terry Hutchinson USA as tactician lead with a 2 points' advantage on 'Team Acqua' of Chris Bake GBR with Cameron Appleton NZL calling the shots.

 Olympic Worldcup 2017 - Semaine Olympique - Hyères FRA - Day 2 A 10-15 kn wind prevailed on the second day of the Hyères Worldcup, similar in strength as on the opening day, but from a different direction. The westerly breeze from the shore created challenging conditions.
In the 470 men, the leading teams Mantis/Kagialis GRE and 2 points behind Belcher/Ryan AUS extended their overall leads with the day ranks 1 and 3 in their groups. Fock/Dackhammar SWE and Xammar/Rodriguez ESP follow at equal points on rank 3. With two race wins, Afrodite Zegers/Aneloes Van Veen NED replaced Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI on top of the 470 women rankings. Silvia Mas-Depares/Patricia Cantero ESP follow at equal points on rank 3.
Three teams lead at equal points in the 49er rankings: Fletcher/Bithell GBR, Lange/Lange ARG and Botin/Lopez ESP dominate the fleet. In the 49ersFX, the Olympic Champions Grael/Kunze BRA have now a 6 points' lead.
Ben Cornish GBR and Nicholas Heiner NED are on top of the Finns with the same number of points. Alican Kaynar TUR advanced on rank 3. Here the news of the Finn class. Moana Vaireaux/Manon Audinet FRA are first in the Nacra 17 5 points ahead of Fernando Echevarri/Tara Pacheco ESP.
Best of the day in the RS:X men windsurfers was again Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI with the ranks 1 and 3 and leads overall with one point ahead of Shahar Zubari ISR. In the RS:X women windsurfers, Noga Geller ISR remains on top, but Zofia Noceti-Kleopacka POL has reduced the backlog on one point.

 Laser - Olympic Worldcup 2017 - Semaine Olympique - Hyères FRA - Day 2 The Hyères Worldcup continued yesterday in a decreasing 12 kn wind, and the Lasers Standard, the last class on the water, could only complete one race, while the Radials sailed the scheduled two heats.
No change on top of the Lasers Standard inspite of a 15th race rank of Pavlos Kontides CYP. 3 polnts behind follows Nick Thompson GBR. With a 2nd race rank, Francesco Marrai ITA moved up on the 3rd place.
In the Lasers Radial, Tuula Tenkanen FIN has taken the first place overall thanks to a race win. Evi Van Acker BEL on the 2nd position follows 2 points back. Viktorija Andrulyte LTU and Maria Erdi HUN jointly hold the 3rd place.

 Star - Lake Constance Championship - SV Bottighofen - Final results The Starboats opened the 2017 season on Lake Constance over the past weekend. Cold temperatures and a 10-12 kn Westwind prevailed on Saturday, allowing to complete 4 races. Sunday remained without wind.
Urs Hunkeler/Nils Holweg YCL were the winners 2 points ahead of Hans Stöckli/Urs Spahr SCMd. The local favorites Jürg Wittich/Christian Trachsel SVB followed on rank 3. 12 teams from Switzerland and Germany participated.

 Olympic Worldcup 2017 - Semaine Olympique - Hyères FRA - Day 1 Moderate winds around 10 kn prevailed yesterday on Hyères Bay during the first races of the second 2017 Worldcup event, and the light-wind specialists had their day.
Mantis/Kagialis GRE lead in the 470 men one point ahead of Xammar/Rodriguez ESP. Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI are first in the 470 women 3 points in front of Silvia Mas-Depares/Patricia Cantero ESP.
The skiffs sailed 3 races. Leaders in the 49ers are Klaus and Iago Lange ARG, and in the 49ersFX, the Olympic Champions Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA are on top.
The Finn leader is Ben Cornish GBR ahead of Nicolas Heiner NED and Tom Ramshaw CAN. The best Nacra 17 team are Moana Vaireaux/Manon AudinetFRA ahead of Lin Cenholt/Christian Lübeck DEN.
A Swiss lead also in the RS:X men windsurfers where Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI won 2 of the 3 races. Two race wins also for Noga Geller ISR on the first place of the RS:X women windsurfers.

 Laser - Olympic Worldcup 2017 - Semaine Olympique - Hyères FRA - Day 1 Sun and moderate winds prevailed on Hyères Bay yesterday during the first races of the 2017 Worldcup event, and both Laser fleets completed two races each.
Pavlos Kontides CYP won both heats in the Lasers Standard and is on rank 1 ahead of Nick Thompson GBR and the Olympic Champions Tom Burton AUS.
In the Lasers Radial, the clear leader is Evi Van Acker BEL with the day ranks 1 and 3, followed by Viktorija Andrulyte LTU and Maria Erdi HUN. The favorite Marit Bouwmeester NED is down in the rankings as a 2nd race ranks has been followed by an abandoned race.

 Bénéteau Figaro - Solo Maître Coq - Les Sables d'Olonne FRA - Day 1 Yesterday, the single-hander class Bénéteau Figaro started to the 'Solo Maître Coq' regatta in Les Sables d'Olonne FRA with two short races. Four short coastal races are on the program till Thursday, when the start to the two-days' long-distance race will be given.
Light winds prevailed yesterday during the short races with Nicolas Lunven FRA and Pierre Quiroga FRA as race winners. Pierre Quiroga FRA is the first interim's leader ahead of Nicolas Lunven FRA and the Vendée-Globe veterans Jérémy Beyou FRA and Yann Eliès FRA. 40 participants.  Mini 650 - Pornichet Select - Pornichet FRA - Day 2 We reported yesterday on the victory overall and in the Protos Minis of Ian Lipinski POL arriving in Pornichet FRA at 2 hrs on Monday morning. In the mean-time, the complete fleet crossed the finish line. Valentin Gautier SUI (see video) finishing 7th overall was the winner in the Series Minis.

 A-Cat, F-16, Topaz - International Cat-Weekend - YC Spiez - Final results Catamaran enjoys a growing popularity in Switzerland and good fleets met at the traditional Cat Weekend on Lake Thoune, organised by the YC Spiez. Sunny weather and a well-established thermal breeze allowed to complete 6 races in each of the 3 classes.
In the A-Cats (12 participants), Sandro Caviezel YCAs was first ahead of Charles Bueche BVT and Dieter Melcher TYC. Andreas and Andrea Lutz SCR were the winners in the F-16-Cats (14 teams) in front of Guillaume Rol/Alexis Mégevand SNG. In the youth Topaz catamarans, Basile Wohlers/Emma Jonsson YCG were on top.

Windsurfing - Marco Polo Cup - Formula/Slalom - Cremia ITA - Final results

 Windsurfing - Marco Polo Cup - Formula/Slalom - Cremia ITA - Final results Act 2 of the Swiss Windsurfing Marco-Polo-Cup took place over the past weekend on Lake Como. In a good thermal breeze, five Formula-races as well as the Slalom eliminations were held. Unfortunately, the wind disappeared at the end of the event and the Slalom final could not be sailed.
Richard Stauffacher SUI won 4 Formula-heats and finished as clear overall winner ahead of Toni Wilhelm GER and Elia Colombo SUI. First in the women's classification was Franziska Stauffacher SUI followed by Heidi Ulrich SUI.

 Season Opening  - SC Cham 70 participants showed up at the season opening event of the SC Cham / Lake Zoug on the past Sunday. After an extensive brunch, the battle on the water took place during the afternoon with a number of different, mostly funny disciplines ... apparently too complicated to publish a ranking list. Melges 24 - European Sailing Series 2017 - Act 1 - Portoroz SLO - Final results

 Melges 24 - European Sailing Series 2017 - Act 1 - Portoroz SLO - Final results The final day of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series in Portoroz SLO - Act 1 of 7 Acts schedulded for 2017 - was the windiest one of the competition with a 12-15 kn breeze. 3 races were again completed and with another race win, Andrea Racchelli ITA confirmed his superiority and finished as overall winner with an advantage of 20 points on the second-ranked Bo Pedersen DEN. Robert Bakoczy HUN followed on 3rd at equal points with the 2nd. 33 teams from 15 nations.

 Mini 650 - Pornichet Select - Pornichet FRA - Day 2 Early this morning, Ian Lipinski POL crossed the finish line of the Pornichet Select Regatta as winner, 2:30 hrs ahead of Quentin Vlamynk FRA. 20 Protos are still in the race and most of them will arrive later this morning. First in the Series Minis is Thomas Dolan IRL with 24 miles to go this morning. Pierre Chedeville FRA on rank 2 was one mile behind.

 J/70 - Battle - Lindau GER - Final results While 12 Swiss Club J/70 teams sailed the first Act of the 2017 Swiss Swiss Super League Championship in Locarno, the J/70-Battle in Lindau GER attracted 30 teams from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 7 races in total were completed on Lake Constance in light winds. Veit Hemmeter GER and his team were the winners ahead of Max Rieger GER and Markus Brennecke GER (with Markus Wieser GER).

 J/70 - Swiss Sailing League - Act 1 - YC Locarno - Final results The favorable sailing conditions on Lago Maggiore with a 12 kn thermal breeze persisted also on the last day of Round 1 of the Swiss Super Sailing League Championship in Locarno SUI, and for more flights were held. The overall rankings did not change and SV Kreuzlingen with Tom Rüegge SVK are the winners ahead of RC Oberhofen with Stefan Seger RCO and CV Neuchâtel with Jean-François De Cerjeat CVN.
