Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2

 Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2 Thunderstorms with strong winds disturbed the schedule of the races of the second day. After a break the races could only be started on late afternoon yesterday. In the 470s Dahlberg / Bergström SWE coped best with the difficult conditions and took the lead with 2 race wins , Belcher / Ryan AUS follow in 2nd, one point behind. New at the top of the 470s Women are Frederike Löwe / Anna Markfort GER, followed by Nadine Böhm / Ann-Christin Goliass GER who are 3 points behind. In the 49ers Diego Botin / Iago Lopez ESP moved to the lead in front of Mathieu Frei / Noël Delpech FRA. Chris Rast USA/SUI / Trevor Burd USA follow in rank 9. New at the top of the 49FX women are now Odile Van Aanholt / Marieke Jongens NED, followed by Tina Lutz / Susann Beucke GER who are just one point behind. There was only one race sailed in the Finns, thanks to the daily first yesterday Zsombor Beresz HUN moved up to second place. Ed Wright GBR is still in the lead in the overall ranking. Jason Waterhouse / Lisa Darmanin AUS are at the top of the Nacra ranking followed by John Gimson / Anna Burnett GBR 4 points behind. The prominent newcomers Nathan Outteridge/Haylee Outteridge AUS managed to finish 2nd and 3rd yesterday. After a collision on the starting day, they had to skip the first two races and are currently way back in the overall standings.

 Laser - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2 Yesterday changeable weather conditions with the passage of a thunderstorm front affected the course of the daily schedule in Kiel. The Laser Standards were able to sail two races. Unfortunately the Radial women remained with no countable races. New Leader in the Laser Standard is Elliot Hansen GBR (yesterday 1/2), Karl-Martin Rammö EST and Filip Jurisic CRO follow in 2nd and 3rd. Tonci Stipanovic CRO and Philipp Buhl GER are 4th and 5th.
In the Laser Radial Women Maxime Jonker NED won the two races on the first day.

 Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2 - The Swiss After an unfortunate start to the Kiel Week with numerous BFD’s the Swiss team was able to catch up a bit yesterday. In the 49er Sébastien SChneiter / Lucien Cujean SUI improved to 12th overall. Linda Fahrni / Maja Siegenthaler SUI are now 15th among the 470 Women . Eliot Merceron SUI remains 13th in Laser Standard. Nils Theuninck SUI fell back to 36th place overall after a BFD in the only race of the Finns. With two good races (18/10), Kilian Wagen / Grégoire Siegwart SUI moved up to 41st in the 470s .
Due to a BFD yesterday, Livia Naef / Nelia Puhze SUI fell back a bit in the 49erFX. No races yeaterday in the Laser Radial Women. Maud Jayet SUI is currently 41st. Andrea Nordquist SUI follows as 54th.

 Laser Radial Men - World Championship 2018 - Kiel GER - Day 2 The qualification rounds of the Radial World Championships in Kiel continued yesterday with two further races. The only 17-year-old Zach Littlewood AUS - representing Australia this year at the Junior World Championships - took the lead with a daily 1 st and 2 nd in his group. Tied in 2 nd overall, one point behind are Josh Armit NZL, Aleksander Arian POL and Caelin Winchcombe AUS. Gauthier Verhulst SUI improved to 34 th out of the 92 participants.  VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Leg 11 - Day 1 Yesterday afternoon, the start of the final leg of the Volvo Ocean Race took place in Gothenburg. With fresh winds, the fleet has already passed the first mark on the Norwegian coast and is now on its way to the next mark close to Aarhus before turning back to the North Sea to head to the finish The Hague. VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Gothenborg SWE - Leg 11 - Start today

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Gothenborg SWE - Leg 11 - Start today Today at 14h CET (12h UMT) the 7 teams of the Volvo Ocean Race will attack the final leg of the race to Den Haag NED. The tension is on since 3 teams still are on the hunt of the overall victory: 'Mapfre' (Javi Fernandez ESP) and 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED) are on top of the ranking while 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA) is just one point back - the ranking and the official preview.
Another intresting fight within the race will go on between team mates Peter Burling NZL and Blair Tuke NZL: They grabbed the 49er gold medal at the Rio Olympics and won the America's Cup together with 'Team New Zealand'. Now sailing on different boats - Burling NZL on 'Brunel', Tuke NZL on 'Mapfre' - they are fighting for the third big title within just two years ! The report.

 Olympic Classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 1 In moderate to strong winds (12-18kn) the Olympic Classes started their Kiel Week yesterday with a full programm of 2 to 3 races. First leaders in the 470er men are Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS with an almost perfect day (1/2). 2 points back Doi/Kimura JPN follow on 2nd. In the 470 women Nadine Böhm/Ann-Christin Goliass GER and 3 points behing Fabienne Oester/Anastasya Winkel GER are topping the rankings. After 3 races for the 49ers 4 teams are sharing the lead on equal points: Dunning/Gunn NZL, Fischer/Péquin FRA, Buksak/Wierzbicki POL and Frei/Delpech FRA. In the 49erFX Stephanie Roble/Maggie Shea USA took over the lead followed by Maloney/Meech NZL two points back. Ed Wright GBR is on top of the Finn ahead of Tapio Nirkko FIN. In the Nacra-17-catamaran Jason Waterhouse/Lisa Darmanin AUS won all 3 races, Gemma Joes/Jason Saunders NZL and Riley Gibbs/Louisa Chafee USA are 2nd on equal points.  Laser - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 1 Good conditions with winds around 15kn on the first day of the Olympic part of the Kiel week allowed a full programm of two races for both Laser classes. In the Laser Standard Filip Jurisic CRO und Karl-Martin Rammo EST share the lead on equal points. Two points back Elliot Hanson GBR is on third.

 Olympic Classes - Kiel Week Part II - Kiel GER - Day 1 - The Swiss Nervous starting day for the Swiss team: Only Eliot Merceron SUI who is 9th after two races in the Laser Standard and Sébastien Schneiter/Lucie Cujean SUI on 14th in the 49er managed to get a clear start in the series. Most others started their series with a premature start: Maud Jayet SUI (2/ocs) is in the midfield of the Laser Radial. Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI (12/ocs) are back on 21st in the 470 women while Kilian Wagen/Grégoire Siegwart SUI even had twu ocs in the 470 men. Lea Naef/Nelia Puhze SUI are 41st in the 49erFX and Nils Theuninck SUI 28st in the Finnn.

Various classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Part 1 - Final results

 Various classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Part 1 - Final results Yesterday, part one of the Kieler Woche for the international classes came to a close. With 31 points ahead, Matthias Berthet / Aleksander Franks NOR were clear winners of the 29er Eurocup. Much tighter was the final decision among the 505 : Quirk / Jess GER won, 2 points ahead of Köchlin / Achterberg GER. Christoph Homeier GER remained at the top of the Contenders, as did Lars-Johan Brodtkorb NOR at Europe class. Thanks to the victory in the last race, Lütke / Schäfers GER managed to win in the Flying Dutchman ahead of the tied Bojsen -Möller / Bojsen-Möller DEN. Stephan Fels / Ulf Hügel SUI again improved their ranking to 9. With an impressive 41 points lead Cesare Barambino ITA won the Laser 4.7 competition. Tytus Butowski POL won in the Laser Radial.
Due to an early start Gauthier Verhulst SUI dropped back to 9 th overall. From today onwards, the Laser Radial men will sail their World Cup. All other Leaderboards

Not this time though thanks to joint World Championships of the Olympic classes in Aarhus DEN which starts in 3 weeks time. The entry lists are full of
international talent of the top level in the Olympic sailing. Here all Entry lists. Of course we will report daily again. The result service is the only thing that really works on the event website. The wind forecasts promise fresh winds between 15 and 25kn for the rest of the week.

 Various classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 3 Today, the first part of the Kiel Week will come to a close. Apparently there were good sailing conditions again for further races yesterday. In the 29er Eurocup the first 5 races of the final were sailed in the Gold- and Silverfleet. Mathis Berthet / Aleksander Franks NOR continue to lead. In the 5o5er Wolfgang Hunger / Julien Kleiner GER moved up to the lead. Christian Homeier GER increased his lead to 10 points in the Contender. In the FD[/ URL], class, König / Brack GER held on to rank 1, followed by Bojsen-Möller / Bojsen- Möller DEN on rank 2. Stephan Fels / Ulf Hügel SUI improved to rank 10. With 4 race wins in a row, Lars-Jacob Brodtkorb NOR built on his lead in the [URL=manage2sail.com/en-US/event/kiwo18#!/results?classId=eur]Europes .
In the Laser 4.7, Cesare Barabino ITA is now 20 points ahead. There is a quadruple Polish lead with Tytus Butowski POL in 1st place in the Laser Radial(open). Gauthier Verhulst SUI as the best of the 10 competing Swiss moved up to 5th place. Jan Kurfeld GER leads the fleet of theOK-dinghy.  Musto-Skiff, 470, Dart - RVB-Cup - RV Brunnen There were good thermal wind conditions last weekend on the Lake of Uri. All three classes were able to sail 5 races each. The Musto-Skiff class was won by Nicolas Duchoud SCOW ahead of Roger Oswald SCE, the small fleet of the 470s was dominated Philipp Erni / Stephan Zurfluh SCC and in the Dart 18 Michiel Fehr / Raoul Rudin SKM were the winners.  VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Gothenburg - Inport Race In Gothenburg the 7 teams of the Volvo Ocean Race sailed their last Inport-Race of this year's edition. In moderate winds it was 'Vestas' with Charlie Enright USA who crossed the finish line first. Behind 'AkzoNobel' (Simeon Tienpont NED) 'Mapfre' (Javi Fernandez ESP) finished 3rd and secured the overall victory in the Inport-Rankings. The report and the video.

 GC32-Catamaran - Extreme Sailing Series Act 3 - Barcelona ESP - Final results In a moderate seabreeze the 3rd act of the Extreme Sailing Series concluded yesterday in Barcelona. 'Alinghi' with Arnaud Psarofaghis SUI defended her lead and moved to the top of the annual ranking. In second place overall on equal points with the Swiss is 'SAP Extreme Sailing' with Adam Minoprio NZL.  Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2 Good conditions prevailed in Kiel yesterday. All classes sailed 4 to 5 races In the huge fleet of the 29ers, who sail the 3rd act of the Eurocup, Berthet/Franks NOR are on top. In the 5o5 Quirk/Jess GER and Köchlin/Achterberg GER share the lead on equal points. Christoph Homeier GER moved up to 1st in the Contender. Lars-Jacob Brodtkorb NOR is leading the Europes. After 4 races sailed König/Brack GER are Nr 1 in the Flying DutchmanD. Best of the 109 Laser 4.7 is Cesare Barabino ITA. In the Laser Radial (open) fleet Julian Hoffmann GER is the first leader.

 Swiss Sailing Super League - Act 3 - YC Luzern - Final results On the final day of the 3rd round of the Super League, another 3 laps were sailed in demanding lightwind conditions.  Optimist, Laser 4.7 & Radial, RSFeva - Junior Championship ACVL - CN Pully Three more races were completed at the regional junior championship on lake Geneva yesterday. In Optimist Boris Hirsch won SNG one point ahead of Tom Siret CNM, followed by Jean-Loup Lauber CNM in third. 75 boats were competing. In the Laser 4.7 Farah Imbert CNV won the overall with three more daily wins ahead of Aris Dimitracopouls CNP. In the Laser Radial the winner is Lucie De Gennes CNP and in the RS Feva Alexander Ott / Antoine Bize CNV finished on top of the leaderboard.

 Star - Swiss Star Cup Act 3 - Colomba Cup - Zürcher YC No racing was possible on Saturday on the lake of Zurich due to very light and unsteady winds. After a long wait, two rather short races could be completed on Sunday afternoon in a light southerly wind. The victory went to Bernhard Seger / Walter Oess with the ranks 3 and 2. Stoeckli / Gouda (2/3) finished second on equal points. Third was the team Ryffel / Heinz who had a sixth and a 1st.
