470 - European Championship 2018 - Bourgas BUL - Final results

 470 - European Championship 2018 - Bourgas BUL - Final results Excellent conditions prevailed also on the final day during the Medal Races of the 470 European Championships on the Black Sea in Bulgaria
The 470 men winners Anton Dahlberg/ Frederik Bergström SWE were known prematurely before the last heat, but nevertheless, the confirmed their superiority winning the Medal Race as well. Stuart McNay/David Hughes USA defended their 2nd place overall. Panagiotis Mantis/Pavlos Kagialis GRE and Malte Winkel/Matti Cipra GER ranks 3 and 4 grasped Silver and Bronze in the European Championship rankings.
Tina Mrak/Veronica Macarol SLO kept their big advantage winning their second European title after 2016. On rank 2 followed Frederike Loewe/Anna Markfort GER, and Nadine Böm/Ann-Christin Golliass GER took the Bronze Medal. First in the Medal Race were Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI moving up on rank 6 overall.

 Olympic Classes - Medemblik Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 3 Fresher winds filled in for the first time on the Ijssel Meer allowing the Nacra 17 catamarans to fly.
In RS:X women windsurfers, Stefania Elfutina RUS took the lead ahead of Zofia Noceti POL at equal points. Maciej Kluszczynski POL renmained on top of the RS:X men windsurfers. Winning two races, Kieran Holmes GBR advanved on the 2nd placed.
In the Lasers Standard, the leader Elliot Hanson GBR has now a 7 points advantage on Etienne Le Pen FRA, Niels Broekhuizen NED moved up on rank 3. Eliot Merceron SUI remains on rank 5. In the Lasers Radial, Daphne Van der Vaart NED has now a 4 points lead on Maxime Jonker NED.
No change in the 49ers: Lucas Rual/Emile Amoros FRA remain on top ahead of Yago Lange/Klaus Lange ARG. Chris Rast SUI/USA/Trevor Burd USA advanced on rank 9. In the 49erFX, Annemiek Bekkering/Anette Duetz NED are now only 2 points in front of Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR. Livia Naef/Nelia Puhze SUI follow on rank 19.
First in the Nacra 17 are Echevarri/Pacheco ESP ahead of Jones/Saunders NZL.

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Leg 9 - Day 5 - New 24 hour record ! Strong gradient winds from the south allowed fast reaching yesterday. 'AkzoNobel' (Simeon Tienpont NED) leading the fleet now, set a new 24-hour-record for the VOR65-class: 579miles. Just a few miles behind 'AkzoNobel' follows the second Dutch team 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED). 'Vestas' (Charlie Enright USA) on 3rd is already 35 miles back.  GC32-Catamaran - World Championship 2018 - Riva ITA - Day 1 In the typical Lake Garda thermal winds, the GC32 World Championship started yesterday afternoon with two races. Double victory for Switzerland with 'Alinghi' (Ernesto Bertarelli SUI) and 'Realteam' (Jerôme Clerc SUI in the first race. The 2nd race saw the young British Team 'Ineos Rebels UK' mit Leigh McMillan GBR on top while the Swiss struggeled after premature starts. In the overall rankings Leigh McMillan GBR is leding followed by 'Red Bull Sailing Team' with two time Olympic Goldmedallist Roman Hagara AUT.  Finn - World Masters 2018 - El Balis ESP - Day 4 Bad luck for the huge 353 boats Finn fleet at their World Masters in El Balis ESP. Only on one of the four race days up to now, sailing was possible, i.e. yesterday another no-wind-day.
Instead of the Medal Race planned for today, additional fleetraces shall be held ... provided there is enought wind.

 Dragon - Hungarian Championship 2018 - Balatonfüred HUN - Day 2 No racing yesterday on Lake Balaton for the Hungarian Dragon Championship. Half of the participants of next weeks European Championship are practicing a last few days.  470 - European Championship 2018 - Bourgas BUL - Day 5 The qualifications for today's Medal Races were concluded yesterday in Bulgaria with two races sailed in a 10kn seabreeze and sun.
With a 19 points adavantage, Anton Dahlberg/Frederik Bergström SWE are the premature 470 men European Champions before today's final. Panagiotis/ Mantis GRE on rank 2 are 7 points ahead of McNay/Hughes USA. The 4th-ranked Machetti/Dantes FRA (3rd in the Europeans' rankings) have still a chance t

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Leg 9 - Day 4 The variable winds stayed on over the Atlantic Ocean yesterday ! During the past 24h, the wind changed from East to South, bringing the southern group back in the lead. In reaching conditions, the VOR65 chase at velocities of up to 26kn with 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED) now 9nm in front of 'Akzo Nobel' (Simeon Tienpont NED) and 15nm of 'Vestas' (Charlie Enright USA). The first boat of the northern pack, 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA), is 44nm behind the leader.

 Olympic Classes - Medemblik Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 2 The fair sailing conditions on the Ijssel Meer continued yesterday with a light wind in the morning and moderate winds in the afternoon, allowing to complete the full program.
Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL moved up on rank 1 In the RS:X women windsurfers ahead of Stefania Elfutina RUS. In the RS:X men, Macieij Kluszczynski POL booked 3 races wins and is now on top 2 points head of Yoav Cohen ISR.
No change in the 49ers with Rual/Amoros FRA now 6 points in front of Lange/Lange ARG. In the 49erFX, Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz NED and Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR share now the lead. Livia Naef/Nelia Puhze SUI defended their midfleet place as 19th.
Fernando Echevarri/Tara Pacheco ESP are first in the Nacras with a 4 points advantage on Gemma Jones/Jason Saunders NZL.

 470 - European Championship 2018 - Bourgas BUL - Day 4 Perfect conditions with sun and an 18kn wind prevailed again on the 4th day of the 470 Europeans in Bulgaria and both fleets completed 3 races each.
With the day ranks 2/2/1, Tina Mrak/Veronica Macarol SLO took the overall lead in the 470 women. Gil Cohen/Noa Lasry ISR are down on 2nd with a 2 points deficit. New on rank 3 are Amy Seabright/Anna Carpenter GBR. The Qualification Series for tomorrow's Medal Race will be concluded today with two races.
Leader change in the 470 men, where Anton Dahlberg/Fredrik Bergström SWE are now first with the day ranks 2/2/1. Mantis/Kagialis GRE on rank 2 are 10 points back. Sozykin/Gribanov RUS remain on the 3rd place.

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Leg 9 - Day 3 After two fast days with easterly winds, the breeze has shifted East forcing the team to sail upwind, a wet and rough affair. See the video. The southern group with the leading 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED) extended their lead somewhat. 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA), the best-placed boat in the North, is 44nm back.  Olympic Classes - Medemblik Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 1 The Medemblik Regatta (previously Delta Lloyd Regatta) on the Ijssel Meer began yesterday in light, lateron freshening winds. All Olympic classes - except the Finns and 470s sailing important Class regattas in other venues - completed the full program.
Maja Dziarnowska POL and Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL share the lead in the RS:X female windsurfers after 3 races. Shared lead also in the RS:X male windsurfers with Yoav Cohen ISR and Maciej Kluszcyinski POL.
In the Lasers Standard, Elliot Hansen GBR is first ahead of Yuri Hummel NED and Eliot Merceron SUI. Maxime Jonker NED won both heats in the Lasers Radial.

 470 - European Championship 2018 - Bourgas BUL - Day 3 Changed conditions on the third day of the 470 Europeans on the Black Sea with a 15-18kn breeze during the races 4 to 6, and the experienced teams moved on top.
Mantis/Kagialis GRE took the lead in the 470 men with two race wins ahead of Sozikin/Gribanov RUS at equal points. Dahlberg/Bergström SWE on the 3rd place are 5 points back.
In the 470 women, Gil Cohen/Noa Nasri ISR defended the first place with Berta/Caruso ITA and Zegers/Van Veen NED advancing on the ranks 2 and 3.

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Leg 9 - Day 2 The fleet was split in half yesterday in a thick fog with about 50m visibility. Four teams with the leader 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA) gybed North and distanced the other three boats initially. But during the past night. the Southern Group is enjoying better conditions and 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED) is only 0,4nm back, to take the lead in the coming hours.

Laser - Europacup 2018 - Oostende BEL - Final results

 Laser - Europacup 2018 - Oostende BEL - Final results Eline Verstraelen BEL was the clear winner in the Lasers 4.7 19 points ahead of Marissa Ijben NED (first U16 Girl) and Finley Dickinson GBR (first Boy and first U16 Boy) on the ranks 2 and 3, separated by one point only. 45 participants.
In the Lasers Radial, 37 boats racing, Emma Savelon BEL was the winner closely followed by Joshua Richner SUI, the first man 2 points back. Aleksandr Moliakow NED was 3rd, Félix Baudet SUI on 4th missed the podium by 14 points.
On top of the small 12 boats Laser Standard fleet was Wannes Van Laer BEL AN LAER, 14 points ahead of Vpamauju Dutta IND, closely followed by Ivan ZHUKALIN UKR.

 Match Race Germany - Langenargen GER - Final results - Victory for Eric Monnin SUI Clearly defeating Karol Jablonski POL 3-0 in the Final, Eric Monnin SUI and his team successfully defended last year's title at the Matchrace Germany on Lake Constance. Monnin SUI handled the heavy Bavaria-Yacht much better as the Polish Champion. In the Petite Final for rank 3, Vladimir Lipavski RUS had the upper hand on Dejan Presen SLO with 2-0.

Ernesto Bertarelli SNG on 'Alinghi' added two more race wins and was the clear overall winner ahead of 'Swisscom' with Jules Monnier 2nd and 'Ylliam' with Bertrand Demole SNG (tactics Mathieu Richard FRA) 3rd.

 Esse 750, Onyx, Lacustre, Dynamic - Pentecoste Regatta - YC Rapperswil - Final results The favorable sailing conditions stayed on yesterday on Lake Zürich allowing to complete two more races per class.
Jürg Ryffel YCR and his team are the winners in the Onyx, his first win in this class. Thomas Cantz SCStä and Patrick Stöckli SCMd follow on the ranks 2 and 3. In the Lacustres, Enrico De Maria YCR finished first.

The seabreeze filled in on time yesterday and both 470 fleets completed three races in an 8-10kn wind at the 470 European Championship on the Black Sea.
In the 470 men, the young teams took the command with the Junior World Champions Hyppolite Macchetti/Sidoine Dantes FRA, day ranks 2 and 4, on top. One point behind share Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP and Giacomo Ferrari/Giulio Calabro ITA the 2nd place. 44 teams racing.
In the 470 women, Gil Cohen/Noa Lasri ISR and Silvia Mas/Patricia Cantero ESP share the first place. 6 points behind follow Cornudella/Lopez ESP, Fahrni/Siegenthaler SUI and Seabright/Carpenter GBR on the ranks 3-5. 29 teams racing.

VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Newport RI, USA - Leg 9 - Day 1

Yesterday, the start to leg 9 of the Ocean Race over 3'300nm from Newport RI across the Atlantic Ocean to Cardiff GBR was given in good sailing conditions with a 15kn westerly wind. Being the last big offshore race, the results will count double. The fleet is advancing at speeds above 20kn pushed by a well-established rear wind. 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA) was leading this morning UTC with 1,7nm on 'AkzoNobel' (Simeon Tienpont NED and 'Mapfre' (Xavi Fernandez ESP) sailing closely together.

 420, 29er, Laser 4.7 & Radial, Europe, Pirat - Young European Sailing - Kiel GER - Day 2 After waiting for wind in vain on Saturday, the 500 Youth sailors enjoyed a perfect sailing day on Sunday with a 12kn breeze an sunshine, and all classes completed at least three races.
Achille Casco/Elliot Schick SUI lead in the 420s ahead of Lenkmann/Hall GER and Bahr/Kleinwächter GER tied one point behind. Theresa Steinlein/Lisa Plattner GER on 5th are the best Girls' team.
In the 29ers, Fomsgaard/Fuglbjerg DEN are first ahead of Steurer/Fiebig GER.
Mewes Wieduwild GER won all four races in his Laser 4.7 Group.
In the Laser Radial Girls, Lena Haverland GER is on top followed by Julia Büsselberg GER.

 Finn - World Masters 2018 - El Balis ESP - Start today Circling winds inhibited to sail the Finn Masters Practice Race off El Balis (north of Barcelona) yesterday. Today the Championship will be on for the 353 Masters (age 40 plus) from 32 nations, among them the defending Champion Vladimir Krutskikh RUS. Among the favorites are also Christoph Burger SUI and Piet Eckert SUI. The official preview.  Optimist, 420, Laser 4.7 & Radial - Championnat des 3 Lacs - SC Murten - Final results Good conditions prevailed also on the second day of Round 1 of the Lake Jura Region Youth Championship on Lake Morat, and all classes sailed another 4 races.
Lars Dittel BT replaced the tied Simon Mille CVE on top of the Optimists. On rank 3 followed the best Girl Andrea Dubois BT. 30 Optimists participated. In the other Youth classes the participation was mimimal only.

Clear interim's leader is 'Alinghi' of Ernesto Bertarelli SNG with nothing but top-3 results. The challengers are not far away with 'Django Racing' of Jan Eckert ZSC on second, and 2 points back 'Okalys' of Nicolas Grange SNG and 'Ylliam' of Bertrand Demole SNG on the 3rd place.

 J/70, Yardstick - Coppa Wullschleger - CV Lago di Lugano - Final results Good conditions yesterday allowed to complete another three races per class on the final day of the Coppa Wullschleger on Lake Lugano.
Matthias Bermejo YCL and his team finished first in the J/70s with Jean-François De Cerjat CVN advancing on rank 2 with a race win. Christian Sprecher SCE followed on 3rd among the 14 teams. In the Cruisers, Gianluca Bianchetti CVLL was on rank 1, as best Racer finished Sacha De Micheli CVLL ahead of Andrea Colombo CVLL, both on Surprise yachts.

 Catamaran - Cat-Weekend - YC Ascona - Final results Inspite of variable weather near the Alps on the Lago Maggiore, the sailing conditions were good and 9 races could be completed at this year's Cat-Weekend.
In the Kategorie C1, Andreas and Andrea Lutz SCR on a Falcon-F16 were the winnersa ahead of the Nacra 16 of Félix Grobet/Loïc Janet YCG and Marine Van Campenhout/Mathieu Meyer CNV.

 SRS - 100 milles de Pentecote - CV Estavayer The rather negative wind forecast prompted Race Management to shorten the race prematurely before the start already. Nevertheless, the 78 teams encountered quite favorable conditions at the traditional long-distance-race on Lake Neuchâtel last Saturday. With a fast race, all teams finished the regatta before sundown. Winner in the monohulls (TCFX, TCF1, TCF 2) on the long course was Pierre Walt CVN an his Esse 850. On the shorter course (TCF 3, TCF 4), Christophe Jutzi CVE on his Surprise was first.

 Windsurfing - Bise noir Surf Classic - Murten - Day 2 The wind was too light on the second day of the Bise-Noir Windsurfing Regatta on Lake Morat as well. Today is the last day to start racing ! The event facebook page.
On the Swiss Windsurfing Website, first conclusions regarding the Foil Windsurfer are presented, with a very positive result as the number of participants has been growing after years with a decline.
