First decisions in both 470 fleets after 12 races sailed and before today's Medal Races:
The stellar Matthew Belcher/Malcom Page AUS are the winners of the Open 470 European Champions, having an advantage of 24 points before the Medal Race. Four teams still have chances for a medal with Fantela/Marencic CRO on pole position, followed by Kliger/Sela ISR and Patience/Bithell GBR and even MacNay/Biehl USA 9 points behind can get a medal.
In the 470 women, the clearly leading Tara Pacheco/Berta Betanzos ESP and their prime chasers Fernanda Oliveira/Ana-Luisa Barbachan BRA will be in the medals, and also Henriette Koch/Lene Sommer DEN on rank 3 with a 14 points' lead on rank 4 seem to be on a safe position. The French duel between Lecointre/Geron FRA, 5th, and Rol/Defrance FRA/SUI, 7th, goes on.
This morning, the non-medal-racers of the 470 fleets sail their last classification race. The starts to the Medal Races will be given at 11 and 12 a.m. The results and the report of the 470 class.
