The first three races at the second event of the Melges 20 European Sailing series were sailed yesterday, off the Tuscan coast of Scarlino. An azure sky and a northwesterly breeze of 10 to 16 knots provided ideal conditions for the largest fleet this class has seen thus far. And it’s all Italian boats at the top of the standings. In the lead, Benedetto Giallongo with his ‘Value Team’ and a near-perfect 2,1,1, score (despite being over ealry in the first race), followed by Luca Domenici’s ‘Notaro Team’ and Marco Morina’s ‘Sei Tu 20’. A report on Zero Gradi Nord.
