Laser Radial & Standard - Euromasters 2017 - Act 2 - Oostende BEL - Final results, Seidenberg USA 4th

 Laser Radial & Standard - Euromasters 2017 - Act 2 - Oostende BEL - Final results, Seidenberg USA 4th Three more races were sailed in both fleets yesterday, the final day of the Laser Euromasters in Oostende BEL.
Wilmar Groenendijk NED defended his lead in the Radials. The best of the day Martin Van Olffen NED moved up on the 2nd rank overall. Among the best of the day was also Peter Seidenberg USA, sailing in the 'Legends' category (above 70 years), who advanced on the 4th place overall among the 25 participants.
Thomas Müller GER is the overall winner in the Standards ahead of Rik Wolters NED. Alan Davies GBR and Wolfgang Gerz GER follow on the ranks 3 and 4.

 Match Racing - World Ranking List - 18th may 2017, Canfield ISV 1st men, Roble USA 2nd women The elite Match Race activity was low during the past 30 days and the World Rankings did not change much.
In the men's rankings, Taylor Canfield ISV keeps the lead ahead of Phil Robertson NZL and Matthew Jerwood AUS.
In the women's, Anna Kjellberg SWE is first ahead of Stephanie Roble USA and Camilla Ulrikkeholm DEN.

 Melges 24 - European Sailing Series 2017 - Riva ITA - Final results, Ayres USA (with Mark Reynolds) 2nd During the final race of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series on Lake Garda yesterday, Carlo Fracassoli ITA discovered his direct challengers for victory way back in the fleet, and he allowed himself an early home time abandoning the race. 7 points is the advantage in the final rankings. Winning the last heat, Bruce Ayres USA (with Mark Reynolds USA) moved up on the 2nd place overall. Robert Bakoczy HUN defended his 3rd rank. 39 teams.

 5.5m - German & Dutch National Championship 2017 - Tutzing GER - Final results The joint German and Dutch 5.5 mIJ Championships on Lake Starnberg were concluded yesterday with three races sailed in a very shifty Eastwind. Mark Holowesko BAH (with Christoph Burger SUI) added a 2nd and a 1st place to their result sheet and as premature champions did not start to the last race. Jürg Menzi SUI finished on the 2nd place, Arend Jan Pasman NED was 3rd.

Finishing 2nd, 'Platoon' of Harm Müller-Spreer GER and John Kostecki USA as tactician protected their first position and grasped her first Worlds title. The defending champion 'Quantum Racing' with Bora Gulari USA and Terry Hutchinson USA earned Silver with a 5 points' deficit. Bronze wen to 'Azzurra' of Alberto Roemmers ARG.

'Platoon' of Harm Müller-Spreer GER and tactician John Kostecki USA defended her lead and will start to the final races today with a 2 points' lead on 'Quantum Racing' with Bora Gulari USA and Terry Hutchinson USA. 'Aleghre' of Andre Soriano GBR and Andy Horton USA on 3rd are already 8 points behind.

 Melges 24 - European Sailing Series 2017 - Act 2 - Riva ITA - Day 1 The rainy weather delayed the start of the opening race of Act 2 of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series 2017, at the same time the Italian Championship.  Volvo Ocean Race - New boats for 2019 The Volvo Ocean Race Organisation has solved the question of whether its future should be monohull or multihull by opting for both. The introduction of a foil-assisted 60-foot (18.29 metre) monohull for the ocean legs plus an ultra-fast 32-50 foot (10-15m) flying catamaran for use inshore will elevate the race to the ultimate all-round test in professional sailing.
