ILCA 4 - Youth European Championship 2024 - Izola SLO - Final results

 ILCA 4 - Youth European Championship 2024 - Izola SLO - Final results The last races of the Junior European Championship were sailed yesterday in Portoroz at around 10 knots. The boys finished two races, the girls sailed three, with Gabriela Morrell ESP taking the title in the end, or rather the two titles: she also won the U16 classification. Maria-Christina Melaniti GRE and Maria Magdalena Villalonga ESP follow in 2nd and 3rd place. Léanne Turrin SUI was one of the best of the day and moved up to 8th place, taking the silver medal in the U16 classification - the ranking list Girls. Lorenzo Ghirotti ITA came out on top in the boys' category, with Vassilis Koukoudis GRE and Alberto Avanzini ITA completing the podium. Nathan Wehrle FRA took the U16 title in 5th place. Another 11 points behind is Maria-Christina Melaniti GRE in 3rd place.  ILCA 4 - Youth European Championship 2024 - Izola SLO - Day 4 Finally some wind! After 3 days of flat conditions, the wind freshened up to 22 knots yesterday, and all fleets were able to finish three races each. The two boys' groups without races on Tuesday caught up in the program. The changed conditions brought numerous changes in the classifications: ----- In the ILCA 4 Girls, Feline Van Ede NED took the lead with the day's 1st/1st/2nd places, ahead of Sara Lacko HUN in 2nd rank on equal points. Gabriela Morell ESP moved up to 3rd place. Leanne Turrin SUI also made a huge leap forward. Thanks to a 3rd place in her fleet, she is now 14th overall and 2nd in the U16 classification! - the Girls ranking list. ----- Juan Bennassar ESP has taken the lead in the men's ILCA 4, followed one point behind by Lorenzo Ghirotti ITA. Archie Munro GBR is close behind in 3rd place. Open Skiff, RSAero - Euro Challenge - Arco ITA - Final results

After a total of 7 races, the first round of the Open Skiff Eurochallenge on Lake Garda came to an end yesterday. Samuele Piantoni ITA won in the U12 classification, Gian Christ SUI was the best Swiss in 11th of the 35 participants. In the U15 classification, victory went to Charles Ganivet FRA, Neela Chassot SUI was 39th out of the 105 participants. Hubert Staron POL won the U17 classification, followed by Océane Affolter SUI in 8th place. Olympic Worldcup - Trofeo Princesa Sofia - Palma ESP - Final results

The Medal Races were decided yesterday in very light winds. The 470s and the 49erFX didn't sail at all. ----- Camille Lecointre/Jérémy Mion FRA won the qualification of the 470 by a narrow one-point margin over Jordi Xammar/Nora Brugman ESP. Malte and Anastasyi Winkel GER follow in third place. ----- Michael Beckett GBR was already the winner of the ILCA 7 before the Medal Race. Philipp Buhl GER and Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA took the places of honor. ----- In the ILCA 6, Maria Erdi HUN took victory ahead of Zoë Thompson AUS and Matilda Nicholls GBR. Maud Jayet SUI improved to 7th place. ----- Diego Botin/Florian Trittel ESP won the 49ers, while Hernan Umpierre/Fernando Diaz URU moved up to 2nd place thanks to their victory in the Medal Race. ----- The 49erFX medal race was also canceled: Jana Germani/Giorgia Bertuzzi ITA narrowly won by one point ahead of Helen Naes/Marie Ronningen NOR. ----- In the Nacra 17, Tito Ruggero/Caterina Banti ITA also remained unbeaten in Palma. The qualifications for today's Medal Races (from 10am CET, via Live-Tracker) were completed yesterday in moderate winds. Two overall winners have already been decided: Michael Beckett GBR has an unassailable lead of 36 points over Philipp Buhl GER in the ILCA 7. He is followed by Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA, who is 8 points behind and 17 points ahead of Olympic champion Matthew Wearn AUS. Gauthier Verhulst SUI is 47th, Martin Verhulst SUI follows in 120th place of the 196 participants. In the Nacra 17, Ruggero Tita/Caterina Banti ITA demonstrated their superiority once again: after a slow start to the series (29/17 on the first day), they turned up the heat and made everything clear early yesterday with two race wins, their lead over Gian-Luigi Ugolini/Maria Giubilai ITA is 24 points. Andrea Aschieri/Anja Camusso SUI are 36th, Axel Grandjean/Noëmi Fehlmann SUI follow in 40th place. There are several duels in the 470 today: Camille Lecointre/Jérémy Mion FRA and Jordi Xammar/Nora Brugman ESP, who are just one point behind, are fighting for victory.
