The wind speed exceeding 30 kn forced Race Management to refrain from starting according to the program. Only some Women Match-Race flights were completed early in the morning. The Group A Round Robin is complete: Echegoyen ESP, Tunnicliffe USA and Roca ESP qualified for the Goldfleet. Some matches remain to be sailed in Group B. So far, Groenveld NED is qualified with 7-1 wins. Skudina RUS and Hazard NZL (6-2 each) as well as Wang CHN (6-3) have the best chances for a direct qualification. With 15-20 kn, the breeze should be somewhat lighter today, but already on Saturday, the wind-machine will accelerate again according to the wind-forecasts. Some changes in the rankings will happen this evening as the discard comes into effect. The official report and more video-interviews, a.o. with Robert Scheidt BRA.
