 Laser Standard  ISAF World Championship 2011  Perth AUS  Day 6  Update
The Lasers have terminated the qualification phase of the 2011 World Championship with the races 9 and 10 today. Tom Slingsby AUS, going as leader into tomorrow's Medal Race, is the clear favorite for the title, and this despite of a not so brilliant day with the ranks 10 and 14. He is still 14 points ahead of the second, who is now Simon Grotelüschen GER. The ranks 2 - 5 are separated by 4 points only, and the Medal Race will be a showdown with Simon Grotelüschen GER, Nick Thompson GBR 3rd, the two best of today Andreas Geritzer AUT (4/6) and Andrew Murdoch NZL (7/4). Even Paul Goodison GBR on rank 6 and Ashley Brunning AUS on the 7th place have still chances for a medal in the double-points-no-discard Medal Race. Tonci Stipanovic CRO on rank 11, and Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA loosing the top-10s on the last day after a good serie of results during the past week, will not be in the final race on Sunday. Rob Crane USA, best of the day (1/2) moved up on rank 14, while Clay Johnson USA flopped with the day ranks 41/21 and dropped on rank 23. Chris Dold CAN is 21st. The results.
