ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship 2012 Dublin IRL Final Results, dramatic end for Mitchell Kiss USA out on rank 4
Difficult light wind conditions prevailed yesterday on the last day of the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships in Ireland, and the last race brought some changes on top of the rankings. Carlos Robles/Florian Trittel ESP had regained their title with the 29ers on Thursday already. Rual/Biton FRA and Lange/Majdalani ARG secured the Silver and Bronze Medal. No change also on the SL-16-catamarans[/URL, where White/Britz GBR took Gold, Darmanin/Copeland AUS Silver and Lowy/Vidal BRA Bronze. While the two top teams from France and the Netherlands were involved in a close duel in the final race of the []420 Boys, the 3rd-ranked David and Alex Charles ESP finished first and passed on top of the rankings taking the title. Pirouelle/Sipan FRA and Goedhart/Van Stekelenborg NED had to content themselves with Silver and Bronze. In the 420-Girls however, the leaders Illaria Paternoster/Benedetta Disalle ITA defended their first position ahead of Smith/Clark AUS and Vose/Irwin GBR. Howitz/Fuente CHI missed the podium by one point only. Mitchell Kiss USA, the clear leader during a major part of the Laser Radial Boys Championship and starting with an 11 points cushion to the last race lived a disaster final day. Knowing that Kiss had an early start disqualification as discard result, Mark Spearman AUS sailed the American down on the last place in the fleet in a ruthless fight... and the title went to the Australian. Mitchell Kiss USA even dropped out of the Medals ! Silver went to Finn Lynch IRL, Bronze to Herrmann Tomasgaard NOR. Julia Carlsson SWE is the winner in the Laser Radial Girls. Line Höst NOR and Cecilia Zorzi ITA gained the other two Medals. In the RS:X-Windsurfer G
