Olympic Games 2012 - Weymouth GBR - Day 11

Thursday, August 9, 2012
Yesterdays' highlight was the Medal Race of the 49ers. Outteridge/Jensen AUS and Burling/Tuke NZL with a major points' advantage from the Qualification Races had their Gold and Silver Medals already before this final heat. The fight was for Bronze where Allan Norregaard/Peter Lang DEN overtook Delle-Karth/Resch AUT, leading right from the start, on the last downwind reclaiming the third final positon. The report.
Qualified for the Women Match Race Semi Finals are Olivia Price AUS, Tamara Echegoyen ESP, Silja Lehtinen FIN and Ekaterina Skudina RUS. Disappointing the elimination of the Anna Tunnicliffe's USA team against Silja Lehtinen FIN, meaning that US Sailing returns home without a medal. The Bericht.
The 470 women qualifications ended with Jo Aleh/Olivia Powrie NZL and Hanna Mills/Saskia Clarke GBR tied on top, and these two teams will fight for Gold and Silver in the Medal Race. 'Just be ahead of the opponent' will be the theme. At least four team will fight for Bronze with Westerhof/Berkhout NED in the pole position. The Bericht. Alle Ranglisten.
