 Olympic Worldcup 2011  Semaine Olympique Francaise  Hyeres FRA  Day 2, overview on North American teams
The medium and shifty wind in the second day of racing in Hyères has brought new leaders in five classes. See sailing-news general and Laser reports above for more details. Hereafter a summary on the USA, CAN and MEX results.
USSTAG: Solid performances came from the Starboat teams Szabo/Strube and Campbell/Coleman on the ranks 2 and 5, in the 49er with Storck/Moore on the 4th place and Sally Barkow and her team in the Women's Matchrace, qualifying for the Gold round. Maxwell/Farrar, rank 15 in the 470 women, Zach Railey, rank 15 in the Finns, Paige Railey, rank 16 in the Lasers Radial, Clay Johnson, rank 17 in the the Lasers Standard and McNay/Biehl, rank 21 in the 470 men are on solid Goldfleet tracks, whereas the RS:X windsurfers Ben Barger, 47th and Farrah Hall 56th have more difficulties to follow the best. In the Paralympic Worldcup, Rick Doerr with his Sonar team moved up to 3rd overall. Mark LeBlanc continued to hold onto 4th overall in the 2.4mR class. The best Canadian result has been delivered by Nikola Girke, 18th in the RS:X women and David Wright, 22th in the Lasers. Ladha/Inkpen are on rank 30 with the 49ers, Greg Douglas, 34th in the Finn, Claire Merry is 40th in the Lasers Radial and McCorquodale/Bone are 86 in the 470 men. Paul Tingley, 2.4 mR, is on rank 14 after his DNF/DNS on day 1. See also comments by the Canadian Yachting Association
As far as the Mexican results are concerned, it i.s once more Tania Elias Calles, rank 15 in the Lasers Radial, who delivers the top performance, but Demita Vega, RS:X women on rank 22, shows good results as well. Murrieta/Murrieta are 39th in the 49ers, David Mier y Teran is 61st in the RS:X men.
