Over the past weekend, the French stopover of the Classic Lateen Sail Boats' Mediterranean Championship took place in St-Tropez FRA. Originally used as fishermen's boats on the Mediterranean Sea, the boat designs and size are quite different from region to region, but the rigging and form of the sail was everywhere the same.
Good conditions with a 15 kn breeze and sun prevailed over the past weekend and the 60 participants from 7 nations sailed 4 races. In the category 'Régate over 7 meters', 'Barracuda' ITA was the winner, in the category 'Régate under 7 meters', 'Beigua' ITA was first ahead of 'Fidelis' SUI. The price for the most beautiful boat was awarded to the French 'Anaïs'. The final report.
