M32-Catamaran - World Match Racing Tour 2016 - Newport RI, USA - Day 1, the Swiss

The forth round of the World Match Racing Tour 2016 got underway yesterday in Newport. The 20 teams are sailing the qualifications split in four groups in fleetraces with the best four by group qualified for the Round of 16. 3 to 4 races have been sailed so far in a thick fog. First in group 1 is Chris Steele NZL and the favorite Taylor Canfield ISV follows a 3rd. On position 1 in group 2 is Sally Barkow USA with her all-female team (a.o. with Elodie-Jane Mettraux SUI), Eric Monnin SUI follows as 4th. On top of group 3 is Ian Williams GBR with a one points lead. The trio Yann Guichard FRA, Phil Robertson NZL and Johnie Berntsson SWE shares the first place in group 4 at equal points.
