 470 Junior World Championship 2017 Enoshima JPN Day 1, Rodgers/Parkin USA 5th
Light and unconstant winds and a changing tide current made sailing difficult on the first day of the 470 Junior World Championship on the 2020 Olympic waters in Japan.
Both fleets sailed two races, and all race winners were French, but the male and female leaders are Italian.
Giacomo Ferrari/Giulio Calabro ITA finished twice on rank 2 and took the overall lead ahead of Guillaume Pirouelle/Valentin Sipan FRA and Daichi Takayama/Naoya Kimura JPN. Kilian Wagen/Grégoire Siegwart SUI are 16th, Wiley Rodgers/Jack Parkin USA are 5th among the 38 participants.
In the women, Illaria Paternoster/Bianca Caruso ITA and Silvia Mas/Paula Barcelo ESP are on top at equal points, one point ahead of Beste Kaynakci/Simay Aslan TUR on rank 3. Sarah de Silva/Julia Fuller USA are 23rd among 25 starters.
The ranking lists, the daily news and the video of the day.
Racing is underway this morning and can be followed over GPS tracking.
