The Hyères Worldcup event continued yesterday after some waiting for wind, but some classes completed just one race in the light breeze.
In the 470 men, a duel between the Olympic Champions Belcher/Ryan AUS and the World Champions Fantela/Marenic CRO, only one point behind the leaders after yesterday's race win, is in the making. The 3rd-ranked Dahlberg/Bergström SWE are now 11 points back. The Qualification Series to select the 10 best will end with the last races today. Finishing 2nd yesterday, Oliveira/Barbachan BRA have taken the lead in the 470 women, but Mills/Clark GBR are only one point behind. Another point back are Aleh/Powrie NZL and Lecointre/Defrance FRA at equal points on rank 3.
This evening, Burling/Tuke NZL will most probably add another overall victory in the 49ers, as their advance on Philipps/Philipps AUS - still on rank 2 despite of a bad day - is now already 37 points. Warrer/Lübeck DEN stay on rank 3. In the 49ersFX, Ericson/Klinga SWE extended their lead on 13 points. Bekkering/Duetz NED follow as 2nd, and the best of the day Grael/Kunze BRA moved up on rank 3.
Two Australians are tied on top of the Finns with Jack Lilley AUS and Oliver Tweddell AUS. Ivan Kljakovic CRO is new on rank 3. A leader change happened also in the Nacra 17, where the day's best Mulder/De Koning NED are now first. Waterhouse/Darmanin AUS and Bissarro/Secouri ITA are the first chasers.
Nick Dempsey GBR is the new leader in the RS:X men windsurfers with Piotr Myszka POL and Louis Giard FRA tied on the ranks 2 and 3 with a 3 points' backlog. In the RS:X women is Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL back on top with Bryony Shaw GBR 10 points back on the 2nd position.
