Yesterday. Matias Bühler/Nathalie Brugger SUI in the Nacras and Sébastien Schneiter/Lucien Cujean SUI in the 49ers were on the water in a 10-12 kn breeze.
The young Geneva team sailed a sensational first race finishing on rank 4, followed by two mid-fleet races. Rank 13, only 9 points behind the Medal Race cut in the World's top skiff fleet at half-time of the Qualifications is outstanding.
Keeping their solid Medal Race course are Matias Bühler/Nathalie Brugger SUI in the Nacras. With yesterday's ranks 10/7/5, the are 8th overall. Today, the last 3 Quaification races will be sailed and ths Swiss mixed-team should be able to defend the Medal Race berth being 14 points ahead of rank 11 this morning.
The 470s resume racing after the lay day with Yannick Brauchli/Romuald Hausser SUI on the 9th and Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI the 13th interim's ranks. Both team have good chances to be within the top-10s after the 5 races left to sail for Medals or Diplomas (top 8) on the final day.
