Laser Standard & Radial - U21 World Championship 2016 - Kiel GER - Day 5

Light winds prevailed on the 5th day of the Laser U21 Worlds in Kiel. Two races per fleet were sailed in a 6-8 kn wind.
The title winner in the girls is known before the last races today. Monika Mikkola FIN was a class of her own also in the light wind finishing 1 and 2 in the Lasers Radial. She has now a 16 points lead and the ranks 5 and 6 as discards and cannot be overtaken any more. Vasileia Karachaliou GRE advanced on rank 2 with a 10 points' advantage on Maité Carlier BEL. Only one points back are Valentina Balbi ITA and Maud Jayet SUI, a trio fighting today for Bronze.
In the Lasers Standard, a duel between Jonatan Vadnai HUN and the defending champion Joel Rodriguez ESP 3 points behind will happen. Nik Willim GER on rank 3 is already 25 points behind. Nils Theuninck SUI, sailing in the Goldfleet, was not at ease in the light winds and is down on rank 9.
